Llama is a typical Japanese town. Great for a walk, but one day is plenty! Madarao ski resort scenery, location is wonderful. Madarao is a small village about 25 minutes away by bus from Iiyama. It is very accessible from Tokyo by Shinkansen. Dinner has to be booked in advance since there are not too many choices. I lost my purse on the train to togari and the owner was so accommodating, she went above and beyond to help me until I got it back. The hotel was warm; the bathroom, shower room, and onsen were all cleaned daily. The breakfast was large and tasty (perfect for a day of skiing).
