September was much too hot and humid for a visit. Not sure when is cooler, though! The key tourist sites are overrun now, so head for the “atypical” locations - there are so many temples you don’t have to see the usual ones. Nijo-Jo castle is a must, but go later in the day to avoid crowds. We explored quite a bit in Kyoto Gardens, Palaces, and Temples. We loved that there were so many places to find food and good food at that when we were visiting most of these places. We enjoyed visiting the many temples, shrines and gardens. Numerous great photo opportunities. We hired a taxi for sightseeing. Convenient, flexible and reasonably priced, Young children ought to see the temples, shrines, gardens and museums too. Kyoto is a wonderful places. There are many beautiful shrines here, the natural sightseeing spots are very beautiful also. It's easy and convenient to travel here as there are a lot of buses run from the early morning till late night.Guest review byUyen

This place is the best value for money for us for our entire Japan trip. We also loved that there is a nice and quaint river on the path to get to the hotel. Location is very close to bus and train stations but is still in a quiet neighbourhood. The room was very small but it was no surprise for Japan :) The restroom was very clean, the staff friendly, the breakfast was offered in a café nearby, just 30 steps from the hotel.
