It's like 3-min walk from the station, and there's a 7-11 3 m min away. Jodogahama Beach is a short ride away, and it's beautiful. I stayed through the typhoon that landed in Miyako. The owner was extremely helpful, dishing out advice and helping me cancel my next accommodation (really appreciate this since i can't speak Japanese and it's a ryokan in a small town). I met a bunch of really cool people, we managed to hang out during and after the typhoon left us, checking out local night spots ... what was a disruption to my travels turned out to be the best experience this trip.
