Amasing place with gentle owners, nice and cute japanese vintage style, bright rooms with yukatas, beautiful onsen space with clear hot water, near the nature with excellent connection with City Center by bus or walking, big 7/11 convenient store near. Old house with not simply vintage style but real details. Love all the furniture and the wood stove at first sight. Nobu welcomed us with some nice herbal tea. She speaks fluent English and we had some nice conversations. She also recommended and gave us a ride to a nice public bath. What we cherished most is the special visit to Mr. Kawanaka, the local artist. It’s our pleasure to meet him and appreciate his artwork. Truly memorable journey. Thank you!

We loved everything!!! Stayed with my sisters so we have the whole cottage to ourselves! The accommodation itself is well taken care of, despite it being 70 years!!! We only stayed for one night but will definitely come back and stay longer next time. The place was well equipped for cooking, and there's a mini market about 5 mins drive. I would say it's a good size for family and a group of friends. View-wise you're basically surrounded by well taken care of rice fields! If you love nature and peace and quiet, you won't regret staying here. We were blessed with a beautiful weather in late June and was able to see the beautiful Hoshitouge rice terraces at sunrise. Maiko was also well-versed in English so we were able to converse well and gave us lots of recommendations of where to go and what to do in the area. It's in the countryside so I will definitely recommend renting a car. Can't wait to come back!!!

Had the most incredible stay at Satoyama Jujo. My wife and I were visiting Japan and in search of a nature retreat from Tokyo for a few nights, and this resort exceeded our expectations in so many ways. The room was quiet and serene, the baths had stunning views of the surrounding mountains, and the food was impeccable. The service was so thoughtful as well; on our last day we were snowed in and couldn't get back to Tokyo, but the hotel made sure we could extend our reservation one night and offered a complimentary taxi to the train station the next day. Hope to be back again one day!

Wow! What an amazing experience, this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in! Convenient location right next to the train station and a short walk to the chair lift, makes this hotel an ideal location for a short ski trip from Tokyo. The rooms were large, modern and spacious with lovely traditional details throughout, and great views across the mountains. The Onsen was beautiful and the whole hotel was very clean and exceptionally maintained. After finishing in the Onsen, the complimentary ice cream was a lovely added bonus. Would recommend to anyone visiting Japan for a luxury stay for a short weekend skiing!
