A very conveniently located flat, which I would say is ideal for a solo traveler or a couple who need a place to sleep, with a bonus of an electric hob, kettle, small fridge and a microwave. (The plates and cups provided are plastic.) It is a typical 1-person flat (1K as we say in Japanese, meaning 1 bedroom and a tiny kitchen in the corridor, with a small unit-bath (a small bath tub where you take a shower, and a toilet and sink are next to it)). There is also a washing machine and washing powder, but there is little space to hang them dry (only a few hangers…there is some outside balcony space that you could hang them but there is no pegs, so your clothes might get blown away by the wind). We tried hanging some washing on various surfaces inside the flat, but they didn’t dry after 1.5 days. The bedroom has two semi-double beds, a standing mirror and a TV, a narrow table and two high stools. The beds were firm and comfortable. Because it is a small flat, there is little floor space - especially if you have suitcases, you wouldn’t be able to fully open them on the floor. There is hardly any surfaces to put your toiletries in the bathroom either. I stayed with two children (both primary school age) and I would not imagine 4 grown-ups staying/sleeping comfortably in this flat. We had some issues getting the key and with the washing machine, but staff was helpful and prompt in responding.

So! This location is about an hour away from Tokyo. For me, not a bad thing at all. I prefer long train rides to a nice and quiet place to relax and this hotel is exactly that. The hotel is basically right on top of the Minami-tama Station. The Station is also equipped with a supermarket for picking up some food on the cheap. Seven Eleven is at the corner (living up to it's corner store reputation lol) so if you want to exchange currency, try using Seven Bank ATM, the rates are pretty good. Now let's chat about the hotel. I was greeted by a wonderful clerk who let me practice my broken Japanese with her. She was very friendly and personable with a million dollar smile. I felt incredibly welcomed and it was also cool she was left handed like me haha. You will need your keycard to use the elevator from the lobby so do not forget to take it with you or you can't go back up. In the hotel lobby, there are lots of amenities for you to use in case you forgot something. The free breakfast is next level delicious but very Japanese style. No pancakes or waffles y'all My room was great! You will have to insert your keycard into the slot on the wall next to the door to power the room. No keycard, no power. There were lots of amenities in the room as well. A hot water kettle, Hair dryer, TV! I even got to watch some sumo early in the morning. The air conditioner/heater remote control was the easiest one I've had the pleasure of dealing with as Japanese aircon remotes are notorious for making no sense even to some Japanese people lol I found it easy to work with. If you are traveling light the room is great. If you are traveling with larger luggage say from an international flight into Japan (me) you might have a bit of trouble wiggling your suit case into a place to get it open fully in the single rooms but that was okay for me!

    The city is literally amazing.

The city is literally amazing. Everything you could want is right there in your hotel or walking distance. Great cafes, izakayas, shopping, exploring-literally everything. Not as busy as some areas in Tokyo, and I fell in love. Will be back soon.

This is a very nice and quaint small city with everything you need. People are friendly here and there are not many tourists as compared to big cities like Shinjuku or Shibuya. Easy to walk around and explore the sights and also plenty of eating options and transport. You can stay here for a couple of days to enjoy the not so busy lifestyle compared to the CBD or major tourist areas

Great location - 8 minute walk from Kichijouji station, convenience store immediately next door, close to the hustle and bustle of the neighbourhood while being far enough to enjoy quiet nights in. Great amenities including a wellness activity centre/gym area - filtered water and ice station also available in same space. Concierge service was excellent - they assisted us with all questions and helped with sending our luggage onto our next hotel.
