I would highly recommend this stay to anyone visiting Uno or the nearby art islands. The host was incredibly attentive both ahead of our visit and during - sharing helpful recommendations. The space was super cool with beautiful fittings, comfy beddings and towels, delicious coffee, smart tv and overall very relaxing. The l location was perfect for getting about town too with lots of restaurants and cafes within easy walking distance

We recently spent two nights at this facility and opted for the yurt accommodation (can't comment on the caravans or traditional houses). Staying in a yurt was an unforgettable experience! The interior was surprisingly spacious and tastefully decorated, comfortably sleeping up to four people. The best part? The yurts are situated right next to the beach, allowing you to fall asleep to the calming sound of waves. The beach is just steps away, perfect for swimming and relaxing. The location is fantastic. The town bus stops right outside the facility, making it easily accessible from the port. Plus, the Benesse Museum and Valley Gallery are within walking distance. If you enjoy exploring, the beautiful scenery makes for magical walks and bike rides; everything is easily reachable without needing a car. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the facilities were clean, and the atmosphere was perfect for families. We highly recommend trying the on-site BBQ – it was delicious and a real highlight of our stay! Overall, this place was fantastic, especially for the yurt experience right by the beach. Highly recommend!

Great hotel, super clean, great Italian restaurant attached (book ahead), good location (Benesse just a 5 min cycle away). Hotel can liaise with bike shop at the port and which means you can leave your luggage at the bike shop as you get off the ferry and get cycling while they deliver it to the hotel later. They were also happy to collect the bikes once we left from the hotel. All super easy.

    We stayed here rather than on Naoshima island and took the...

    We stayed here rather than on Naoshima island and took the short ferry across to the island. When we planned our trip, I had not factored in that many of the museums on the island were closed on a Monday and that some had to be booked for the Sunday. The benefit is that the onsen next to the Uno hotel is wonderful. You can be outside in one of the outside baths and at night gaze at the stars. We had a massage and a Japanese meal in the onsen and ambled happily back to the hotel. We delayed our planned departure to go the next morning after we had checked out of the hotel. We did not really explore the town itself but had a lovely meal in a restaurant close to the ferry building, overlooking the park and shopped in the big stores near the station.

    It’s a nice ryokan - close to the harbour and the train station. No staff - but it suits me well. Feels like my own apartment. Clean, simple but nice and cozy. They cleaned the room every day - I didn’t even expected this… if I ever come back to Tamano a m- and I hope I will because of the art islands around and the beautiful Onsen in Tamano - I will certainly try to stay in this ryokan again
