Simply the most amazing river side lodge in the heart of pristine nature - we stayed in a tree hut for 2 nights - felt like an adventure camping but with all the modern day comforts. Tree hut - in hut you get wall sockets to charge your devices, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, window shutters to let in the fresh crisp forest air, super clean wooden floor boards and futon bedding. Even though you are using a shared toilet and shower - these were both super hygienic, personal care essentials all provided and organised. Food - there’s a small restaurant that serves up a good hearty breakfast and dinner sets. Being city folk, we thoroughly enjoyed the “camp like with city comforts” experience! The staff, Yuki, Alex and Merdina, were always on site to make you feel welcomed, they took the effort to chit chat, offer help etc. Yuki went out of his way to fetch us to the starting point of our walking trails and also to see the breathtakingly picturesque Chinda waterfalls. Such a special memorable experience I hope to repeat again! Thank you again kiyokawa lodge!

It was a beautiful property nestled atop a nice restaurant serving local produce. The flat was bright and spacious, it was incredibly quiet at night. Our best stay out of 18 properties we’ve stayed at over a month in Kyushu.

The rooms are amazing little cabins that are cozy warm in the winter and very well designed. The bath is deep and allows you to feel like you are bathing in nature. The food in the restaurant was incredible. They adapted the menu for me to vegetate it was among the best meals I’ve had in Japan. The onsen is awesome too with warm baths that look out over the river. Magical! The fact they have a mixed section is great. Swimming costumes provided.

The hotel is easy to locate. Room is big and comfortable for our family of 4. It is clean and well equipped. Good value for money. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast included was sufficient and satisfactory, not to mention delicious.

I could not fault this place ! I would highly recommend this gorgeous inn without hesitation. The staff are very warm, super lovely and helpful. The place is tastefully and thoughtfully decorated. Very well equipped, the location is excellent. The room is small but cosy, and the futon was comfortable. I had breakfast there. The food wes hearty and delicious. The bread which they bake themselves, was scrumptious. I just love this place. would love to visit again.

Mariko is an amazing host, very friendly, showed us around their farm and introduced us to their farming way of life. We chose to have dinner and breakfast and the food is very meticulous, healthy, delicious, and made with fresh ingredients. We also participated in harvesting shiitake mushrooms which was fun. We definitely recommend this place and would come again. Another very unexpected part of our stay is the tremendously beautiful scenic spots in Bungo-ono. Mariko introduced us to Todoro Bridge, Taizako Canyon, Harajiri Falls, and Fukoji Temple Buddha. There were no crowds and we were almost the only visitors. It was a phenomenal trip.

The traditional Japanese house is so lovely, spacious and confortable for a family to stay, my family love it so much. And there is Wifi available though on booking says no, this should be updated so more people must love it. And the owner is friendly, quick and flexible with all my questions. The beautiful blue flowers from the garden on the kitchen table adds more value to the welcome. I cant express my apprciation more.. Love it love it..a must stay place.
