Everything! The room was clean, and the staff were very warm and welcoming. Location is perfect for us as the midagahara wetland was just beside the hotel. It's also quieter compared to the famous Tateyama Hotel. If you prefer a quiet, peaceful place, Midagahara is a good choice. Day light was long in spring, so we could do a morning trail walk at 5 am. I am very grateful to the chef for my vegetarian meal request. The vegetarian kaiseki (see photo I shared) was superb.

The dorm is comfortable and clean. Dinner is amazing and really filling with the set meal. A simple breakfast costs ¥500, including bread and coffee, as well as rice and miso soup. The location is excellent, only a few minutes from the station.

One of my favourite places in Japan! The owners are really kind, although they don’t speak English, you can see that they are trying to make you feel as comfortable as possible. The rooms and onsen were great and even surprising considering the remoteness and altitude. Definitely go out and see the sunset if you get a chance!

Terrific hotel just a short, easy walk from Toyama station. The check in process was. The room was clean. The onsen fabulous. Also love the welcome touches such as free ice creams in the afternoon and ramen in the evening. Breakfast had a wide variety. Close to a very cool bar Dobu6 which we’d recommend. Great place to stay.

    It was a wonderful experience for me since this is my first...

    It was a wonderful experience for me since this is my first time to snow mountain , the view at Tateyama Kogen Hotel was really stunning . When i checked in it was very foggy and the next morning i just couldn't believe my eyes the ALPS peak is just in front of my room window . It was so close to me . It's really beautiful with the sunrise . Since i went there early 1st May , i can only see the snow wall corridor and the beauty of Kurobe dam . The view is really pretty. oh if you are planning to drive to Ogizawa , don't worry there are plenty of car park but make sure you arrive early . We park our car at Shinano Omachi and took a bus there as afraid can't find parking due to Golden week holiday , I could have drive up there !
