A wonderful simple & authentic home stay. The owners (mother & son) were so lovely, friendly and helpful. The tea & cake on arrival were very welcome! It was the perfect overnight stay before doing the 10minute walk to Nanuoya train station the next day. Would highly recommend.

They welcomed us with a delicious cake and a lovely cup of tea. Everything was so clean and comfortable. I stayed one night there and it was a great experience! The moother of Tharun, this lady was so friendly. They made us a very good breakfast also.

We stayed in a dorm and the rooms were clean and cozy. There was warm water in the shower and good warm blanket. Staff was very lovely and helpful. And the view was GREAT! Tasty breakfast as well. At night it was very quiet. We loved our stay here.

The space was simple, brand new, cozy, and beautifully designed, it felt very cozy from the moment we arrived. The food from the in-house restaurant was incredible, full of flavour and made with so much care. What truly stood out was how warmly we were welcomed. Our immediate family had planned this trip after such a long time apart, and Croft Cottage gave us the perfect setting to reconnect. It wasn’t just a holiday, it was a heartfelt experience shared with loved ones. There’s truly no better way to spend quality time together. Highly recommended!

I highly recommend Grand Bungalow. We stayed in the superior triple which is a large room at the front of the building. All 4 rooms are upstairs. The 3 doubles don't have a view but all rooms are beautifully furnished and very comfortable. (We were able to see all the rooms during our stay). There is also a beautiful sitting and dining room on the bedroom level. The staff are fantastic. Rasika, the manager/butler is very helpful and kind, and the dinner and breakfast prepared by chef Sahan is delicious and generous. You will be cared for with warmth and good humour. They do not speak a lot of English but we were able to communicate well. The location is excellent. Near to the Grand Hotel and Victoria Gardens.

    If you are into budget travel and want a genuine local...

    If you are into budget travel and want a genuine local experience, NanuOya is a good town to visit. It’s very close to the main tourist town Nuwara Eliya (approx 9km away) and has buses heading there every 20mins. You can also get there by train. The locals are very helpful and kind. You get a few places to eat food like South Indian dishes and koththu and a few places to buy liquor from. There are two waterfalls and the larger, wider one located inside the Glassough tea estate is a place where you can bathe in on a sunny day. It’s a lovely little town surrounded by tea estates!
