I was really disappointed with my recent visit to this city.

I was really disappointed with my recent visit to this city. A few years ago, everything here was wonderful – people were kind, welcoming, and the atmosphere felt warm. Unfortunately, this time it was the complete opposite. People seemed angry, unfriendly, and aggressive. No one smiled, and rudeness was very common. The worst experience was with taxi drivers. They didn’t greet or say goodbye, didn’t help with luggage – neither putting a suitcase in the trunk nor taking it out – and their overall attitude was simply terrible. Sadly, this visit left me with a very negative impression, and it was nothing like the city I remembered before. The only truly amazing place we found was Kwak Inn on Dome Square. It was super-duper! The staff there were friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere was great, and the food was absolutely delicious. Compared to the rest of the disappointing experience in the city, this place really stood out in the best possible way.

This is a very walkable city.

This is a very walkable city. A lot of roads are cobbles so sensible footwear is advised. We plotted the main sights on Google maps, and got around everywhere in a day. The KGB building is worth seeing the free exhibition. (,tours have to be booked in advance).it is not on the same site s the Occupation Museum, which confused us. Google. The Corner House for the KGB museum.

I believe a truer picture of Latvia is in the regions, regional towns and country areas. In my opinion Latvia has become too 'Riga and Jurmala" centric. Investment in regions needs to be more pronounced.

    Beautiful old town. Friendly locals.

Beautiful old town. Friendly locals. Great views from St Peter tower (Petera baznica tornis), and floor 26 (skyline bar) of Radisson Blu Hotel. See library, occupation museum, Doma church, art nouveau buildings, etnographical museum (bus ride), seaside. Lido chain of restaurants is great for reasonably priced local food. Centre is walkable, but cobbles are bumpy for wheelchairs and pushchairs. Many buildings and transport not yet accessible, but getting there! Reliable taxis.

My favourite thing about the hotel was the location. Under 10 minutes walk to the local Riga market, coach station (which we used to and from), main sites and scenes of the old town. The room in the hotel itself had everything that you would want for a 2 night stay. A massive bed, bath, seating, storage. It was great for what we needed. The breakfast had a variety of foods available - toast, cereal, hot foods, hot drinks, juices, local cuisine. And the space where you had breakfast was rather cool - it was underground with stone walls!

This hotel has a good location, somewhat outside the city center, but with several tram lines just outside. The tram will take you to the old town in Riga in 10 minutes. The part of Riga, whrer the hotel is situated, Agenskalns, is quite picturesque with old wooden architecture, some small restaurants and the local market not far away. The hotel itself have nice rooms, good breakfast and other facilities. It gives a good value for the money. I recommend it for travellers who want to see more of Riga than just the old, historic part.

Excellent location in the old town of Riga, everything at the walking distance. Good communication with the hotel. Easy check-in procedure. Breakfast in the next door restaurant, nice. The hotel is very picturesque, you feel the "old town spirit". Just in case if you are a light sleeper, bear in mind that it is an old house - you can hear what neighbors are doing, so bring the earplugs. But it is a small price for being in the center of the old town as well for the very personal and nice service at the hotel.

Perfect location for exploring Riga and extremely safe area to stay after a night out in the Old town. The bus stop is practically outside the hotel which makes the airport transfer cheap. Great breakfast lots of good options and the spa was fantastic.
