Fantastic setting High up above Todra Gorge, snow capped this trip, but have been to this place before with my children, who swam in the pool! Hosts were generous and friendly, just as I remembered from last visit. stayed up for my late arrival, had the fire going and brought me soup and tea, very thoughtful. Really friendly, hence came back.

Out of the nine hotels we have stayed at in our trip around Morocco, this one was easily our favorite. We felt incredibly welcome and confortable thanks to the amazing staff and owners. The place is very well kept and the facilities are great (swimming pool is really nice). We really enjoyed the food too.

The host and his family are extremely proud of the auberge they have built. The made us feel like part of their family. The decor is very simple and authentic yet extremely comfortable, we such a comfortable room and a lovely night’s sleep. Dinner and breakfast was delicious and in large portions.

Warm and genuinely friendly welcome on arrival with exceptional hospitality provided from the very start. Unique, clean, and comfortable accommodation. Breakfast, and dinner especially, were excellent with music, singing, and dancing as superb live entertainment in the evening. The location is incredible and we went on spectacular hikes through the gorge and then enjoyed the breathtaking view of the stars at night. The staff organised a taxi for us on departure with a friendly driver at a very reasonable price. We cannot thank the team enough for this experience and would recommend to anyone without hesitation. We initially planned to stay one night but added another and would have loved to have stayed longer. Cannot wait to stay again in the future!

Hotel Tombouctou is located in a historic Kasbah, or fort, that has been lovingly restored. The main building is expansive and features traditional decoration including rugs, antique doors and a beautiful collection or artwork. Entirely made of adobe, guests feel more inside a palace than a hotel. The rooms are located on various levels around the central courtyard and are simple and well appointed with every required amenity. There is a beautiful pool outside the main building with a restaurant located in a berber tent overlooking the pool. Breakfast and dinner are served here and both are fresh and excellent. Breakfast is buffet style with a wide and delicious choice of options, including made to order pancakes and eggs. Dinner features well executed and succulent traditional dishes. There is an included closed parking garage across the street for your convenience. The hotel is close to the old medina and oasis which can be reached on foot (10 mn walk -go at dusk when it comes alive). The staff are very friendly and attentive and went out of their way to help us and point us in the right direction.

Very friendly and helpful staff. He got up early at 6:30am to buy bread for us for a hiking trip and made us breakfast at 1pm when we got back even though it was our final day. Location is in the city but also a close drive to todra river as it is next to the main road.
