Simply put: We liked everything. It was a perfect little, quiet place with an amazing view and wonderful hosts. Every morning we had lovely chats with one of the hosts, Ivan, who not only is knowledgeable in many topics (including but not limited to things we wondered about things we saw in Montenegro) but he also took the time to advise us about places to go etc. Sadly we weren't able to do anything on our to do list because the road leading up to the house was small and took a lot of energy (even by car) but nonetheless we had an amazing trip because of how amazing this place was. It may seem like I'm exaggerating but honestly I'm not. We loved the animals, the room had everything we needed and if we experienced problems we could always call the hosts and they'd come fix it for us. Also the breakfast was wonderful, even I as a picky eater loved it. We do want to go back to Montenegro to do all the things we came here for, and maybe then we'll stay here a couple nights again too. 10/10 would recommend.

We enjoyed our three night stay at the Hotel Pelikan. Despite being located in a busy section of town, our room was surprisingly quiet despite the outside noise. Our room was small, basic and matched the pictures online plus comfortable and clean. Check in/out was smooth and easy, which included a welcome drink. Free street parking is available but can be crowded at times (although we always found a spot). The wifi connection was spotty. The breakfast was good with varied menu choices. Despite what's mentioned in other reviews we were asked but not pressured to book a boat tour. We elected not to which was fine with the hotel staff.

Mijo is the idle host in Skadar. He was also our Captain and instructor for 2 hours trip in the lake and hosted us for a great fish dinner with his wife - Sania. Very knowledgeable and kind host, and this is of great importance in this beautiful location.

Lake Valley is a standout gem tucked into the heart of Virpazar—where precision meets warmth in the most unexpected way. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that this property is cared for with an obsessive attention to detail that’s rare even in the luxury hospitality world. The landscaping is pristine, the pool reflects the sky like a mirror, and every element—from the layout of the garden paths to the positioning of the loungers—feels intentional and harmonious. The owner, Milo, is not only gracious and welcoming, but also clearly invested in the guest experience. He kindly upgraded my room, which featured a large and supremely comfortable bed, immaculate finishes, and a sense of quiet elegance. The space itself was spotless and thoughtfully arranged, allowing me to truly relax after long days of travel. As someone who works in high-end aviation and manages people and environments where excellence is non-negotiable, I have to say: Milo’s approach mirrors that same standard. He brings a sense of pride, craftsmanship, and care that goes beyond hospitality—it’s a form of artistry. A particular highlight was the sunset boat ride he recommended. It was serene, cinematic, and completely transformative. Sitting on that boat as the sky turned gold and the reeds swayed around us felt like stepping into a still-life painting.

Apart from the cleanliness of the rooms and the great pool and staff, the hosts were out-of-this-world friendly and kind! We had car trouble so they offered to pick us up. Exceptionally kind people and a definite comeback.
