The area around Gusinje, the national park, is...
The area around Gusinje, the national park, is breathtakingly beautiful. Beautiful mountains, fantastic hiking opportunities. Gusinje is a very authentic small town, a typical Balkan town in the best sense of the word. It is definitely recommended for anyone who is curious about this world. Unfortunately, outside the park, the environment is neglected and often littered with trash, which is very depressing because it gives the impression that the people who live there don't even know what treasures they have in their possession. a beautiful town that is underrated, and under developed too. The surrounding alps is sooooooo beautiful! but basic instrastructure is lacking - the bus station is only a parking lot with no ticket office. there are some abandoned properties. There are lots of beautiful trails but looks like hasn't been maintained for a long time and it's not accessible. And trashes are in the beautiful rivers, mountains, trails. with more people visiting Gusinje, and local government's effort - clean up trashes, improve the public insfrastructure, and most importantly set boundaries to protect the national park and environment, and improve the situation of the trails, hopefully it will help the local economy.Guest review byLinaUnited States - 8.0
we did not spend much time in the town centre, but drove...
we did not spend much time in the town centre, but drove though it. There is very different feel about Gusinje and the Moslem influence can definitely be felt, with a large mosque located right in the town centre.
