We only planned a 2-day trip to Kotor and we were very impressed with the area in general and mainly the Old Town where we based ourselves. One the 2 days we were able to travel up the Cable Car to enjoy a fantastic sunset and spend quality time exploring the Old Town before taking a speed boat trip to Perast and Our Lady of the Rocks. If you are looking for a peaceful time, this is quite a good place. For parties and entertainment, you can spend time in Old Town, but the options are rather limited. If you want a quieter holiday surrounded by the sea and forest, this place is just right for you. The Old Town is cute, but really not that special (Budva, for instance, is nicer, and so are many Croatian coastal towns). It is completely overflowed with tourists everywhere, it's expensive, and at night-time the music is extremely loud until very late. It had a view over the bay, albeit from a skylight window, plenty of room for clothes and was very comfortable. It was very reasonably priced in a town that is otherwise almost uniformly over-priced (at least in relation to the rest of Montenegro) and was located on the edge of the old town, up steps and sufficiently back from the noise of bars late at night, a short walk from the bus station. Vladana arranged airport transfers which were on time and good value. We were worried they wanted us to pay cash in case it was a scam but it was all fine.
