Puebla has lots of attractions including underground historic war tunnels, beautiful churches and streets, fantastic mountain view and the worlds largest pyramid (measured in footprint) nearby. Worth seeing, beautiful church on the peak and less beautiful reason why it is there. Very nice to walk in Puebla - and lots of activity in the streets. The city has two main long distance bus stations. Not sure, but the oldest one might have best connection to local buses. Lots of local buses and takes some to understand where they go. The Poblanos are lovely - very friendly and helpful. The city is super clean. We felt safe the whole time. The historic district is the place to stay. Very central to most everything. Such a beautiful city with colonial as well as art deco architecture in the central historic district. If you enjoy visiting churches, this is definitely the place for you! Over 70 in the historic district alone and hundreds more city wide. Many of the historic center streets are pedestrian only and are lined with food and craft vendors. The city itself is mostly flat which helps with the 7000+ foot altitude. I was able to enjoy several of the museums - make sure you check out the Museo Amparo's rooftop views! Puebla is where the battle of Cinco de Mayo started and the city does a great job of designating landmarks and installing placards (almost all in Spanish) to tell the stories.Guest review byMARYUnited States - 10
