Andreas and his wife Rosario are very lovely people, Andreas is an excellent guide to visit all the places around Barrancas del Cobre and it offers tours with affordable prices. Rosario is an excellent chef :) The room was very comfortable and clean, and there's a fire place that makes a very nice and warm atmosphere! This was a single night brief stop off for us. Lolita was very friendly despite our limited Spanish and her English we managed OK. Accommodation is really really basic and functional we got a bed for the night toilet sink ( didn't use shower too cold) . Breakfast was all home made in front of us as Lolitas kitchen dining area is separate to sleeping block. She was brilliant at trying to meet our hot water and milk needs for tea. Cooked us dinner in the evening and kept checking in that we were OK. We emailed night before arriving on El Chepe and she came down and picked us up. Also arranged a very nice horse ride for me the next day at half the price I expect other class hotels in area would charge . Horses appeared at prearranged time as requested

The property was a really cozy typical town house. The owner was super nice and attentive. He came to pick us up at the train station and drove us to the supermarket when we need it. The owner made us feel like part of the family and cooked for us at night. He also offers a big number of tours in the region.

Very friendly and helpful staff in a prime location for the el Chepe. They provide transport between their partner hotels so you can have more experiences such as wine tasting. A cosy venue which we were very comfortable in.

Hostal Font offers a unique experience in the area. Carlos, the owner, has a very comprehensive knowledge of the Barrancas. We did the sunset and sunrise trek guided by him and both of them were exceptional. The hostel itself is comfortable and it has all you could need (except wifi), including an equipped kitchen. As a hostel you have the opportunity to spend time with other travelers. We enjoyed the company of the other guests and Carlos. The house has a location that allows you to see the sky full of stars if you walk a few meters from the entrance. We booked the private room and we could enjoy the firm bed after a long day of walking. We would definitely book the property again.

the senor and senora were very kind when I got bitten by a dog at the other end of the village ( I think it was because they were hungry and I was carrying bananas) and took me to San Rafael to have the bite cleaned by a man ( don’t think he was a doctor) there. even offered to take me to creel hospital as she thought I needed a rabies jab.

Nice hotel very close to the train station. The room was comfortable and clean, with hot water and good heating. Free transport to Divisadero station if needed. There's a convenience store on site.
