Amazing food and drinks at the restaurant! Friendly and joyfull staff giving very price information and warm welcome. Clean room. Not too big, but for us big enough. Nice location at a canal and this moving bridge. We used it during our mulitinday biking trip. We would certainly use it again. And the food.... Oh, it was good

The room is very spacious with a bathroom and shower in a super pleasant location where we were able to sleep very peacefully. It has split air conditioning and a heating system, meaning whether it's hot or cold, you can stay without problem. The breakfast is simple and enough for you to eat well, everything is very fresh. The hosts are super friendly. You can walk to the city center for 10 minutes, where there are good restaurants, and 5 minutes to a market and it's still close to the bus stop

    Oudewater is a typical small Dutch town, where most people...

    Oudewater is a typical small Dutch town, where most people seem to know each other. It has some good small shops, a town museum, plenty of places to eat and drink, canals (of course), medieval buildings, and more. It's main visitor attraction is an original medieval weighing office dating to the 1600's where people who were accused of being a witch could get themselves officially weighed on a board suspended by chains from the ceiling and obtain a certificate certifying that their weight makes it imposible for them to be a witch. Witches had to be below a certain weight to be able to fly. Some accused made the long journey, even from neighbouring Countries, to the Oudewater weighing office as there weren't many around. Here visitors get weighed one by one on the original weighing scale and receive their personalised official certificate in their chosen language to (hopefully) certify that they are too heavy to be a witch. Fun for kids and adults alike. Upstairs is a short video and small museum. Definitely recommend this.

    Oudewater is a delightful town and was a surprise to us.

    Oudewater is a delightful town and was a surprise to us. It is full of interest and history especially for a small place. Of note are the Hakenwaag, where you can find out if you a a witch! the Rope museum is also worth visiting as you can learn about the historical source of wealth in the town. It has some splendid buildings in a compact area. The town has a good range of cafes and restaurants all seemingly popular. It also has a pleasant variety of shops. The market on Wednesday is a highlight.

    Good place, plenty of free parking space around. very center of Oudewater, 50 m to Haksenwwaag. The apartment is clean, close to the greatest attractions of the Netherlands: The Hague, Amaterdam, Delphi, Utrecht and Gouda.
