What a cozy little spot to stay. Very clean. The heatpump made sure the place was warm. Kitchen had everything you'd need along with a mini oven. The PS4 in the bedroom with 2 controllers and games was a nice addition. Bed was very comfy I slept very well. Excellent value for money. I will be back definitely.

it was wonderful! We didn’t expect the room to be so big, but it was huge — gecko room with three beds. lovely big tub to use after a long cold day, lots of great amenities (hot cocoa, shampoo, etc.). Would definitely stay again — especially if we had a bigger family + others joining us.

This is a dream property with amazing hosts. You feel welcomed the moment you enter the gate. They have created such cozy spaces for guests and the provide great amenities like coffee and tea, toast and other small breakfast items. I appreciated the small fridge in the room, pressure in the shower and how quiet it was at night. I also walked to town and it was easy and fun. There’s a lot to do in this part of the world! Te Mahia is a slice of paradise in the Queen Charlotte-Kennepure Sound. The location is a balm for your soul in the busy life we lead today. It is exquisitely beautiful but the locations beauty is surpassed by Trevor and Janet who were exemplified Kiwi kindness. As Canadian golfers pursuing the links, Trevor arranged for us to join a golf tournament at the Nopera golf course. This required a short boat water ride across the gorgeous sound by equally kind and generous Kiwis Ang and Christopher- who were playing in the tournament. While we scooted across the sound our guides pointed out features around the shore which were not in any guide books. Trevor arranged a delicious dinner for us upon our return which put the fresh in freshly caught. Our chefs were an engaging young couple who prepared a delicious meal. This place is not to be missed in any trip to New Zealand.

We stayed in the Sir Joseph Banks suite, it was beautifully appointed, an absolutely gorgeous heritage building, very well kept up. Provisions for breakfast, a little treat and bottle of wine we’re happily received. Michelle picked us up from the ferry and provided transport when we asked. She was marvellous with us. In addition, their garden is beautiful and just right for the era of the house.

We enjoyed the interesting and free to enter Havelock museum. The public toilets are clean and well looked after and there are a number of local cafes all within walking distance. It is an easy walk to the mail boat departure jetty.

Havelock is a delightful place.

Havelock is a delightful place. In the distant past I had only stopped whilst driving through, but as a relaxing place to stay it exceeded my expectations. The marina is lovely, people seem friendly, pub food is great, and there is some interesting history. I would definitely go again.

Gateway to the Marlborough sounds.

Gateway to the Marlborough sounds. You can take a boat cruise or get dropped off at any of the many bays in the Sounds. Views are stunning. Havelock itself is very quaint, with a beautiful marina, gallery, wee museum, pub and grocery store. There is also a couple of winebars/restaurants. The town is small so everything is within walking distance. We would recommend dinner at the Mussel Pot and a 'Mailboat' Cruise of the Sounds.

Such a peaceful little town that I’ve driven through a million times but barely stopped in - was nice to finally spend a night there to have a good wander around and sample several cafes/restaurants. For such a small town there is a lot of (good) choice! The small museum is worth a look too - some very interesting story snippets in there if you take the time to read them, to go with recognisable mementos of the past for people of a certain age…

Enjoyed being able to just turn up and chill, letting the citylife fade away. Enjoyed the scenery ,wildlife, food, and people. Was a good stop off point for our trip up the sounds. Had a nice dinner at The Mussel Pot Restaurant and a pleasant drink at the Slip Inn bar.

My first time in Havelock and I loved every part of it.

My first time in Havelock and I loved every part of it. The very inviting character filled small town is above the wharf and marina. The surrounding countryside and the sounds themselves are stunning. Great coffee shops and restaurants and friendly locals. Best Green lipped muscles. I ordered chilli green lipped muscles from a food truck in main street. Divine. I spent a day out on the mailboat. It was a wonderful experience which I will never forget. I highly recommend the town and the boating experience. Hope to get back again soon.

Perfect location near Havelock in the Marlborough Sounds. Debbie and Dean were perfect hosts and the B&B is a credit to both of them. Continental Breakfast was a fantastic selection of home cooked and prepared food. Rooms were very comfortable, spacious and quiet.
