Nice and peaceful, although you can hear some road traffic.
Nice and peaceful, although you can hear some road traffic. Nothing much in Hikutaia itself, but only a 10 minute drive to Paeroa with lots of food options, and about 30- 40 minute drive out to the wonderful walks, waterfall and abandoned mining ruins in the karangahake gorge. Earthbridge is a gem of a rural hideaway.
Earthbridge is a gem of a rural hideaway. The hosts, Tim and could not have been more hospitable and the breakfast provisions were outstanding. All toiletries, kitchen equipment etc is provided and we often lit the fire outside to heat and enjoy the outdoor bath under the stars. Our hosts showed us the best swimming holes and nearby walks. Lots of interesting walks and sights in the area. The local history is fascinating and the scenery is great. The paths and facilities are very well maintained. There are many kilometers of walks in and around the Karangahake gorge.Guest review byLindaNew Zealand
