Loved the location, the layout and the decoration of the cottage, loved watching the sheep do their thing. Beds and pillows were comfy. Plenty of blankets and heaters available to keep you warm in winter. Would definitely stay here again.

We had the perfect weekend getaway! The place is beautiful, spotlessly clean, with a huge TV and an incredibly comfy bed. The hosts were so kind and made our stay truly special. It felt warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived – we couldn’t have asked for more!

Nestled in green hills. Calm surroundings with possibility to see Highland cattle, rabbits, etc. Waking up to Tui birds singing. Clean facilities all around. Great conversations with Max, who is super knowledgeable and can answer most of your questions about NZ and the surrounding area. Delicious breakfast options. Loved the fact that there is no internet reception, just being present in the moment.

The BEST stay! Loved the alpacas, Neil & Joanne took us to feed them on arrival & the following morning. It was such a great time for my 2 year old to feed them & the goats. It was so great to switch off from the busy world. We sat outside on the deck at night, with a beautiful view & drink in hand. 10 out of 10.

Joanne and Neil are incredible hosts! We stayed for three nights, and honestly, we would have loved to stay longer. They own a little slice of heaven and are so generous in sharing it with others. If you love animals and nature, this is the perfect spot for you. Every morning, we had the pleasure of feeding the Alpacas and Goats. We also got to meet Bear, the official welcoming dog, and even had a chance to feed the goldfish. It’s truly an amazing place to visit! Everything you need is right there. The cabins are clean and tidy, and it’s clear that Joanne and Neil genuinely care about their guests’ comfort and enjoyment. We even took advantage of the BBQ a couple of nights, relaxing under the open skies filled with stars—such a delightful experience. Thank you Joanne and Neil, we are more than happy with how this little trip went. Javiera will miss to see the Alpacas every day.

    If you are coming by car take the Old Tauranga rd & Pukekaure rd off state highway 2 (sign posted golf rd) from Bay of Plenty for excitement. Go & see the glow worms at night. Great walks & cycling along the river

    Possibly a bit of grass area for dogs to tinkle but i get that they.like decks too. Maybe a friday night or sat night bbq for $10 a head wud work. I wud love to mix with others on my stay. Just a thort lol

    I enjoyed the location in the beautiful gorge area but no smoke alarm in the room so it was a safety concern and no reply to my text to the manager about this. Also shocked there was no hot water working in the kitchen sink or bathroom sink. And bathroom door jams so had trouble opening it.

    Lovely living space for a family or a group of friends. Comfortable rooms. Very friendly host. Tv in lounge and bedroom. Lots of walking tracks nearby. Excellent cafe and pub in the Karagahake gorge. Railway train rides to entertain the kids

    Lots of outdoor activities with the Ohinemuri River right...

    Lots of outdoor activities with the Ohinemuri River right outside and a big choice of historical walks plus it's very close to join the Hauraki bike trails to either Paeroa or onwards to Waihi. It's such a beautiful area.

    Beautiful area with wonderful walking/biking tracks, tunnels...

    Beautiful area with wonderful walking/biking tracks, tunnels and an impressive waterfall. We also had an amazing dinner at Falls Retreat. Would recommend this trip to anyone who would like to spend a weekend in nature and exploring the outdoors.
