We recently stayed two nights here and couldn’t be more pleased with our choose of accommodation. The unit was spacious enough for a couple, very clean and came with a well equipped kitchen. A quick drive to all the hiking trails. Parking was available right in front of our unit. Staff were also super lovely and friendly. Let’s not forget the spectacular view of the mountains from our room. We will definitely be back!

It was a real privilege to be able to spend two nights at this fantastic location. Our hut was very comfortable and the nearby shared kitchen and bathroom hut was well equipped. Our host Alana was very welcoming and provided lots of useful information. We spent a lovely day at the station doing the nearby suggested walks and were lucky enough to watch the early morning clouds lift and get a view later on of Mount Cook. The clear skies on our second night afforded us a great view of the Milky Way. By the way, the gravel road up to the station is by no means difficult to negotiate and the end result is most definitely worth it.

Mount Cook Village is a great location if you are planning to do some walks in the area. We did the Hooker Valley Track, Sealy Tarn Track, and the Tasman Glacier View after which we were exhausted and travelling to another location would have been a bit much. Staying at the village was the best decision. At night you can travel slightly out to get the most exceptional views of stars and in the morning you wake up to unbelievably beautiful views of mountains. If you are lucky you might just get some snow.

Hooker valley trek is the main attraction there and it is closed right now The alternate to that trek is the Sealy Tarns trek which is pretty okay There are not too many options to eat there so it is a better option to buy your own food before you get here as there arent grocery shops here as well.

We loved the convenient location of the mount cook village.

We loved the convenient location of the mount cook village. It was nice being so close to the hermitage where all the activities were based from. Even though the motel/lodge was less luxurious than the hermitage, the rooms were still very lovely (and had heated floors!). Although it wasn't the best value compared to other hotels we stayed in during our trip, the convenient location makes it very worth it.

Very quaint little set up here so you need to be well prepared as there is only one up market hotel with cafe style restaurant during the day and a fantastic restaurant for dining costing approximately $80 per person for the buffet which was very nice. Outside of that there isn't anywhere to get any other food supplies apart from you bring. It is a stunning location especially when you venture out into the many hiking trails provided and come across the glacier lakes and rivers

We had a great mid-winter trip to the village. It never fails to amaze. Most food types are covered but be careful with your expectations as to what restaurants cafes or bars are open for eating and drinking in the winter period.

The location was fantastic. The hotel was ok but not that good value for money. The restaraunt was crazy expensive $160NZ dollars for 2 buffet and 1 drink each. The food was just OK. We booked early with Booking.com and got a great rate. As a result i beleive we were stuck in the worst room. It was an acrod room (which in itself is fantastic that they have them) but we were expecting a little luxury and were given highly functional for obvious reasons.

When we went to Mount Cook Village in mid-September the weather was pretty bad. We stayed for two nights, and we could only do one hike (Hooker Valley track). The rest of that day and the second day was raining/snowing all day. However, despite this, it was still a beautiful view of the mountain from the shared living area. The communal area is well-heated and has plenty of seating for guests. The staff were also very friendly and helpful.

Great location, our room was a balcony one and had a good view. It’s linked to the heritage hotel up the top which you can get an unreal breakfast at. Expensive but worth every penny. Would stay again. Private room and escape after a long day of hiking the various hikes. Location is accessible from all local hikes too.

Good location just on the outskirts of Mount Cook village and east driving distance to the start of most walking tracks. The kitchen facilities were good, but unfortunately someone cooked fatty sausages on the hob and smoked out the communal areas.
