My husband was born there and we have visited before during Art Deco week . Didn’t stay at the masonic then but ate there . That was fabulous . Stayed this time at the masonic. Disappointed by the empty shops nearby . Prehaps like any coastal town , a bit disappointing in the winter. The art deco centre across the road had moved. The food, shopping and beautiful Art Deco buildings were a highlight of Napier. We visited the Cabana, Napiers olders (maybe NZ's olders) live music venues and saw a great band. It had so much character and we loved every minute there. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was quite spacious and had been quite tastefully upgraded recently. The hotel is perfectly located, and within walking distance of the central Napier sites.
