The house is spectacular. All the details are beautiful and it shows that they are taking so much care about the house. The fireplace kept the house warm all night and the rooms are lovely and warm. The bathroom is incredible with a super large bathtub where you can relax. I would choose it a thousand times more. The owners are super friendly and always ready to answer questions and help us in any way they can.

If you fancy an off the beaten track escape with a trip back in time, this is the place to go! There was a farmers' gathering at the Pub the night we were there - 20+ pairs of gumboots at the entrance to the pub is a different welcome! The Whanga Butchery is about 30 steps from the Pub.

So this is not for everyone.

So this is not for everyone. If you are looking for entertainment, shops, nightlife, touristy-attractions, then this is not for you. However, if you are drawn by remote, genuine, quiet and an escape from the conveyor belt of life, and you are content with just being, look seriously at this.

We enjoyed a stroll around the village and the information on the buildings about the history of the area.Great to be able to get a coffee at the hotel before we left as it had been shut when we arrived the night before

Having been to this township previously we were drawn back by the history of the the area. We had dinner at the whangamomona hotel- an iconic building which sits proudly in main street. The evening we dined at this pub seemed quiet but a large group were booked in for the next night. we greatly enjoyed the open log fire in the bar which is where we had our meal.

Small settlement with oodles of history.

Small settlement with oodles of history. Quaint and the locals are super lovely. Take the time to wander the settlement, read everything and chat to the locals as they are full of knowledge. Pub is the hub, as is usually the case in a small town. Food is exceptional and hospitality is second to none. If you haven't been, get in!! It's a joy to behold in the middle of nowhere. Breathe in the freshness, exhale and relax. Key note ... learn how to say the name correctly!

A quaint accomodation in the centre of Whangamomona with everything you need. Wander around the small village and spend a few hours in the local hotel chatting to the locals as they are very friendly and welcoming. A roadie that is iconic New Zealand.
