    An up-and-coming city with a longer industrial history in textiles and manufacturing, it is undergoing modernization with improved transport hubs, extensive building construction, and citywide revitalization. Most remarkable is the one very long main street (Piotrkowska), one that urban life centers on. Also noteworthy: Cinema museum, Arts and museums generally, OFF Piotrkowska, Swimming and recreation, Night life, etc.

    I came to Łodz to visit my friend and had never been before...

    I came to Łodz to visit my friend and had never been before despite living and working in Gdansk. The city is amazingly sparse with character everywhere and always something to do. I would love to live there as the city is constantly developing and is amazingly connected.

    Really enjoyed Lodz, the people food & drink were superb. I think it is a 4 /5 day trip. We were there a week maybe a couple of days too many so we had a day in Warsaw which is easy on the train from Lodz.

    A less visited Polish city and all the better for that. Museum of Lodz worth a visit,situated in Poznanski Palace. Herbst Palace is a must see also, as is the Museum of the Factory in the Manufaktura complex.Jewish cemetery is worth a look also .Very moving.Do give the Ethnographical Museum a skip as it consists of just one room and shows nothing of the life of the people of the area in former times.People are friendly and very helpful everywhere .Public transport is like everywhere in Polish cities: excellent.For dining out try Mare e Monti if you like Italian food .If you prefer a more traditionally Polish dining experience Soplicowo in Ul. Wigury is excellent.

    Łódź is an interesting city.

    Łódź is an interesting city. It's shows the history through its architecture, Polish, German and Jewish residents have all left their mark in the city. It was known for its large factories and villas. The buildings are much different than the rest of Poland and the Piotrkowska street is the largest shopping street in Poland and one of the largest on Europe. Manufactura is very cool and worth a visit. You can see they're putting a lot of effort into building up the city. It is known for its film school, lots of film students and actors.

    Research and have a rough plan of what you would like to do, before you go and check out the opening times of where you would like to visit first etc. Bring appropriate clothing and footwear as a good place to explore on foot.

    One of the most impressive hotels in Poland, and in Łódź certainly unrivalled. The history, architecture, furnishings, cleanlines... almost everything is of a very high standard. The restaurant is recommended for both dinner and breakfast, and the afternoon espresso tastes excellent in the unique lobby. The pool and spa area is "the icing on the cake". If you arrive by car, you can park for free in the multi-storey car park of the neighbouring shopping centre.

    My stay at the hotel left a truly positive impression. The room was clean, tidy, and comfortably spacious. The staff were kind and attentive – when I asked for a phone charger, they immediately offered one. Breakfast was not only abundant but also beautifully presented, with a wide variety of options: from fresh vegetable salads to delightful bite-sized treats, such as a canapé with shrimp. Overall, we were very satisfied with our visit.

    Perfect stay! Firstly biggest Kudos goes to hotel staff - very friendly and caring people! The room was tidy and comfortable for 4 of us, breakfast very well thought out, from the smallest to oldest we had many choices. Also there was nice area for kids in the lobby. And moreover - the location was so comfortable, parking is for extra fee, but very spacious and safe. Thanks!

    The hotel is simply stunning. We had a huge suite. Very nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. More than enough space for the family of 4. There was even a yoga mat in the room .
