An Exceptional Experience from Check-in to Check-out I recently had the absolute pleasure of staying at the Cascais City and Beach Hotel, and I can confidently say this was one of the most memorable hotel experiences I've had. From the moment I arrived until my departure, every aspect of my stay exceeded expectations. Exceptional Staff - The Heart of the Experience What truly sets this hotel apart is the incredible team. The check-in process was seamless thanks to the professionalism and warmth of Philippe, Leoni, and Paul at the front desk. They were not only efficient but genuinely welcoming, making me feel like a valued guest from the very first moment. When I mentioned I preferred a quiet room, they immediately accommodated my request without hesitation - this level of attentiveness is rare and deeply appreciated. Special recognition must go to Manoj Khatri, my housekeeper, who maintained my room to absolute perfection throughout my stay. The attention to detail was impeccable - fresh towels, spotless surfaces, and thoughtful touches that made returning to the room each day a genuine pleasure. Manoj's dedication to excellence truly enhanced my overall experience. Prime Location - Best of Both Worlds The hotel's location is simply unbeatable. Perfectly positioned to enjoy both the vibrant energy of Cascais city and the tranquil beauty of the nearby beaches. Whether you want to explore local restaurants, shops, and cultural attractions, or simply relax by the ocean, everything is conveniently accessible. The location strikes the perfect balance between convenience and serenity. Comfort and Design Excellence The room was a perfect blend of comfort and style. The interior design is both beautiful and highly functional - clearly thought out with the guest experience in mind. Every element, from the lighting to the furniture placement, contributed to a relaxing and aesthetically pleasing environment.

FAQs about hotels in Cascais

Laid-back Suburban Beach Resort

Cascais is a small city located on the outskirts of Lisbon. Once a fishing village and defence outpost, the royalty transformed it into a stylish summer resort. Mixing beautiful beaches, elegant mansions, imposing fortifications, and a wide variety of hotels, Cascais is a great option for every season.

King Luís II used the city as his summer residence from 1870 to 1908, attracting other celebrities, and changing the destiny of the tranquil village forever. Modern roads and railway lines linking to Lisbon and Sintra were built, as well as a casino and other facilities. Some of the best hotels and 5-star resorts in Cascais date back to these times.

Nowadays, the town is a cosmopolitan beach retreat along the Estoril Coast, where people from Lisbon and other Portugal cities come for a day or weekend escapade. Many foreign tourists prefer its more relaxed hotels over the sometimes hectic Lisbon atmosphere.

Don’t miss the Citadel, rebuilt during the 16th century in a typical star-shaped Renaissance style. Other attractions include the Museum of the Sea and the ‘Paula Rego House of Stories’.

Beach hotels are the gem of Cascais and you can find a wide range on Booking.com. Check your availability with enough time in advance, as the city remains a popular summer destination.

We really enjoyed walking around the city, the views are very pretty and overall the buildings and structures are really beautiful, lots of stone archways, marble and old stone buildings to admire and pretty cobbled paths to walk. The road out by the coast is really enjoyable to walk also with landmarks like the boca du inferno well Worth a look. Restaurants are plentiful with good food and lots of nice cafes to enjoy a coffee and pastry while enjoying the autumn sun. The weather was perfect whilst we were there, warm but not too hot. The train station in cascais takes u into Lisbon city in 45 minutes and is really enjoyable as you pass along other sea side towns with a view of the sea as you travel. It’s not expensive and runs every 20 mins From My experience the city of cascais is very safe and clean.

Beach and rugged cliff coastline was a good combo .

Beach and rugged cliff coastline was a good combo . Excellent choices of restaurants from higher end ( Bougain) and simpler but good . The Paula Rego centre was a major draw for me and I wasn’t disappointed . Pretty parks to stroll in the shade too. The harbour and beaches are buzzing. If I’d have had longer I’d have hired a bike and cycled along to Estoril and the other direction to the lighthouse and beaches . The train service along the coast is reasonably priced and reliable. You could stay in Cascais and do day visits to Lisbon easily . Also easy to use train to get to Sintra.

Beautiful seaside town can be easily reached by train from Lisbon where we spend some days. Cascais is very walkable, although we reccomand to wear comfortable walking shoes. Beaches are family friendly and can be reached easily. Regarding where to eat, Cascais has lots of restaurants but if in a budget we do reccomand to try the restaurant situated where is the big Auchan supermarket called restaurant Maria Pimenta.

The hotel is in a great location, just ten minutes walk from the middle of town. The rooms are lovely and clean. we stayed in a suite with a balcony and sea view and it was spacious and had everything we needed. We travelled as a large group and the hotel were welcoming and accommodating. We had a number of family and friends staying at the hotel as we were getting married in Portugal and the hotel staff were so lovely and even opened the indoor bar for us on the day of the wedding before guests were being collected.

Everything about the apartment was wonderful. Alex is a great host, pleasant and welcoming to all the family. We loved the location of the apartment, as nearby were some great restaurants and beaches. It was ten minutes to walk to the beautiful cascais town centre and a short drive to Lisbon. We had everything we needed including the pool which was greatly appreciated by our two children who spent many hours in it. We would love to return one day.

Great staff location is 5 minutes walk to marina and the town centre , lovely views over the sea. We loved they had a big cycle lane along front of the hotel where you could run and cycle beside the cliff / sea (this is a big advantage over other 5 star hotels in the area). The pool and property were beautiful .
