Celorico da Beira is a beautiful, quiet village with many hiking trails. The area is extremely safe as is most all of Portugal and the locals are very friendly to those visiting. Very quiet little city with traditional stone buildings. Easy to reach castle with great views and loved the "Solar do Queijo da Serra da Estrela" with the history of this traditional cheese.
