What a beautiful and clean place to stay. We were warmly welcomed by the family and truly felt right at home. They are incredibly hospitable and happy to help if needed. We had a wonderful time and felt completely relaxed. A special thanks as well to your lovely daughter for the beautiful drawing of the boat — we’re definitely taking it back with us to the Netherlands!

I recently stayed at Aldeia da Cuada on Flores Island, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, the reception was warm and kind, making us feel truly welcome. The property itself is enchanting. Our house was one of 16 restored stone cottages, complete with a beautiful private garden offering stunning views of Poço da Ribeira do Ferreiro, several breathtaking waterfalls, and the vast ocean. The sunsets from the garden were absolutely magical. We were also charmed by two friendly cats, including one named Alfredo, who greeted us upon arrival and became our evening companions. Their presence added a cozy, homely touch to our stay. The on-site restaurant is exceptional, showcasing the unique flavors of Flores with dishes crafted from fresh, local ingredients. Given the limited dining options on the island, this was a fantastic and convenient feature of Aldeia da Cuada. Another highlight of this location is its proximity to all the main attractions of Flores. Whether exploring waterfalls, hiking trails, or soaking in the island’s natural beauty, everything was just a short drive away. Aldeia da Cuada is more than just a place to stay; it’s a peaceful retreat that captures the heart and spirit of Flores. Highly recommended!

First things first. It is close to the airport. 15-ish minutes on foot. There is also a convenient parking lot next to the police station nearby. It is an ideal spot when you have a car and are planning to make trekking trips around the island. The town is fairly small, so there is no problem in finding it. Owner also sent me the photo of the alley and how to get in so it was no problem at all. I´ve never met the owner but he was really respectful and straightforward in his online communication, which I appreciate. The apartment had all the appliances, washing machine, stove, microwave. Bathroom had a bidet. Although when washing clothes, you have to hang the laundry outside the old way. (good luck with the weather!) What came as a really nice surprise was a heated massage chair and a tv with good internet connection. There is also a small pier right next to the apartment so you can just go look at the night sea before sleep. It is very serene and quiet during off season. And it is all just behind the kitchen window!
