The place is so cosy and welcoming. The interior has this 'at home' feeling with a lot of traditional details. The fireplace is amazing if you go there in winter. It has everything you would need for a confortable stay. The kitchen is equipped with plenty of things, and the bathroom is big and homy. But the outdoors of this place are its strongest point. The terraces, patios, barbeque covered area and most of all the amazing view especially in the morning. Lots of thanks to the host for the place, the nice snacks she left for us and just in general for a beautiful place to stay!

The staff surprised us with cake and a bottle of wine on our arrival (it was my husband's bday). Beautiful hotel, spectacular views, great food, friendly staff, a chef's garden, vineyard and relaxing pools and spa. We enjoyed our time relaxing. What a wonderful treat after walking the camino portugese. The sommelier, Ferminio, was so friendly and kind. We will recommend to friends and family.

    Its a beautiful town with incredible views, there are plenty of restaraunts and cafe's as well as supermarkets that will sell you cherry's which grow abundantly in this area. Keep in mind that it takes time to get to the town as it is very mountainous terrain

    Pros: Beautiful area for a driving tour. Great scenery.

    Pros: Beautiful area for a driving tour. Great scenery. Fun roads to drive (in a small car!). Cons: This may have been our fault for poor planning but there seemed to be a lack of an organized "Wine Tasting Trail" to follow. The Douro Valley didn't seem quite there when it comes to wine tasting tourism (unlike Kelowna ,B.C. where we live). Still worth the visit though!

    We loved our 4 days at Sao Romao de Agregos.

    We loved our 4 days at Sao Romao de Agregos. Our hosts, Carlos and his wife were very helpful and friendly and recommended places of interest which we thoroughly enjoyed- hikes, wine tasting tours and stunning view sights. The facilities were immaculate and we enjoyed beauutiful sunsets around the pool area. We will definitely book this apartment again if we have the opportunity ro return to Resende.

    The hotel was very basic but also very clean. The spa was great for relaxing. The room was clean, large and had a beautiful view of the river. Breakfast was varied and very good with traditional food. The hotel is located in a very calm place, next to the river, close to two restaurants and a bar to have a drink in the evening (there's only one bar in this place). Wifi in your room, fairly good signal...parking outside of the hotel.

    We stayed in the 2 bedrooms house with pool. It was beautiful…. but even better it was nestled into the hillside amongst the other properties and main hotel which are breathtakingly stunning. All the staff are friendly and helpful- we even got to have a look into the winery which was a really special treat. We had the best few days of complete relaxation as a family ❤️

    Time to relax! We felt the kindness of the owners and citizens in Aregos and Resende, a place nearby. The house was very spacious, amazing and clean! Our baby was not having dirty knees, which was quite unique on our trip consisting of 14 locations. Furthermore the pool, bbq facilities and its lovely surroundings make it the perfect location to spend your holiday.

    It was one of the best places we stayed in Portugal. The hotel is beautifully located and decorated with attention to detail. Quite a large area with greenery and stunning viewpoints, a swimming pool with sun loungers, tennis court, billiards, etc. Everything you need for a successful holiday. The service was so friendly and helpful.
