After a long hike this hotel took care of all of our needs! We were able to use the pool, get a massage and get all of our hiking clothes laundered. The village hotel was central and very comfortable with helpful staff. The breakfast had a good selection and it was close to the trail. Not many options to dine, we chose a Portuguese place and it was ok, a little greasy but good value.

This is the nicest place I’ve stayed in Portugal, between all hotels/hostels/guesthouses so far . Location is great. Just off the historic area, which means it’s nice and quiet but close to the restaurants and bars if you want that. The hosts personally gut renovated this apartment in 2023 and it shows as a labor of love. I was reminded of my newly remodeled home in Los Angeles- all modern fixtures, etc except perhaps better done here in do Bispo. And of course- weather permitting- the massive patio accommodates an incredible sunset view without obstructions, which you would have if you tried to view from the city center. There is also a full size Lidl supermarket about 3 minutes walk away, which is fantastic if you don’t want to eat out - or just want to buy something random that would cost a small fortune at the farmacia or minimercado. Note there is not A/C (that I found), but you won’t need it. Just leave the doors open. I’ve been persecuted mercilessly by mosquitoes for the last two weeks in the Alentejo and Algarve but didn’t have any issues here. Also- there is a real working washing machine!! Every place I’ve stayed in Algarve has “a washing machine” that turned out to be inconveniently “broken” when I arrived. Not here. It’s a brand new washer and it works great. 10/10

    Short walk and you have all you need for a one week stay, using Vila do Bispo to explore the impressive south western region of Portugal, especially Ingenia beach. We luved Eugenia at Restaurant Convivio, the fresh foods market and incredible range at Lidl supermarket. Evening village strolls and joining a local party at the local cultural hall, completed a memorable stay

    I really enjoyed my stay on this lovely farm just out of Vila do Bispo. The room was large and modern with a huge comfy bed with crisp linen. Everything was spotlessly clean. There is a huge balcony with ocean views & a very well equipped kitchen with everything you need. It’s right on the Rota Vincenta except the Fishernans Trail which I was hiking, you need to walk to Vila do Bispo which is a pleasant & flat 3.2 km walk. Great value for money. The hosts are lovely. I would definitely stay here again.

    Only stayed one night and wish we booked for longer! The room was lovely and the town was adorable and had great restaurant options. The hotel breakfast was really wholesome and delicious. Would definitely recommend.
