It is a city with very rich history and old parts with good traditional restaurants, but at the same time it is a modern city with buildings that sometimes seemed as if I was in Dubai. You can walk in the city, in the parks or by the Danube all the way to Zemun. Nightlife is very rich, especially for the young, and you can find all kinds of clubs and music to your liking. In the summer you can bathe in the Danube at the famous river beaches. For those who have never been, it is worth visiting (and I always gladly return).Guest review byMarinaCroatia - 8.0

People smoking is a huge problem, thanks to American Tobacco, and we were advised 60% and more were hooked. Honestly you couldn't get away from it on the streets, in restaurants, hotels, everywhere, but thankfully not in our apartment block, though there were smokers on the footpath outside. There needs to be a huge public health and public education campaign, and the government needs to resist the tobacco taxes and money from lobby groups to concentrate on the health and welfare of its people. Belgrade is a bustling city that's a little edgy...we loved it. Enormous pedestrian area. Tons of restaurants and pubs throughout the area. Belgrade has a free public transportation system, but we did not use it...we walked everywhere. A very charming and bustling city. Hospitality services were amazing and very helpful and accommodating everywhere I went. The food and wine were amazing. I did not have a meal that wasn't delicious. I felt safe everywhere I went and it was not difficult to find my way around either walking or using public transportation.
