Frösön Park is the former Officers' Mess at the former Frösön Air Base. It has two fighter planes guarding the hotel as a reminder of its past. The hotel is newly renovated with spa, pool, and a good restaurant. All hotel guests have free access to the restaurant. It is close by the airport, but located lower than the runway so there is no noise from aircraft disturbing you. The rooms are spacious and quiet.

    I lived on Frösön for 11 years and worked in Östersund. Östersund town centre is vibrant with a lot of shops. So many towns in England have many empty shops, so it is so nice to see that Östersund is still alive.

    Beautiful town and lovely people.

    Beautiful town and lovely people. Hotel Ostersund was a great place to stay to access the town and the many great restaurants that we found on our trip. Try the Basta Italian restaurant, great food and atmosphere.

    It was in summertime. Very interesting region of Sweden.

    It was in summertime. Very interesting region of Sweden. Clean air, clean water. Location in the woods and mountains. Nice city with wooden houses. Lots of restaurants, bars, and shops. Hairdressers and spas are available. Interesting boat tours (M/S Thomme) is a must. Cool local museum Jamtli- recceomnded. Good location for short walks or boat tours around.

    Östersund is a Hub for winter sports like Biathlon, 2 downhill Ski slopes. Ski resorts Close by are Oviksfjällen and Åre. Östersund also offers a couple of Golf courses in the vicinity and Storsjön the local lake for boating in summer.

    Easy access to building and room outside of the receptions opening hours, and decent signage throughout the building. Do note the hotel seem to share some space with other companies and households. The room lacked nothing, except charm. The roomy bathroom of our end-of-hall room was in true budget style, no tiles and simple shower and washbasin. A shared lounge area provides coffe & tea and ironing equipment. Breakfast buffet provided by the teception was excellent. Served weekends until 10:30.

    The room was perfect. Comfortable, lots of place, inside there was everything we needed. We came around 11 PM and it wasn't any problem to check-in. The hotel was very easy to spot from the street and basically impossible to miss. It was a great hub too, as there were many fun places around. The stuff was very nice and helpful. Highly recommended place.

    A really cosy historic hotel that at the same time has kept the core amenities. While the interior is era specific the quality is high. The room looked very nice. Modern bathroom. Breakfast area looks very nice and the selection is above average.
