The weather wasn't as pleasant as we had hoped, but one can't blame Vadstena for that. The castle is well worth a guided visit, and the town is very pleasant for walking, with lake-front paths and many small shops (be careful - they shut at 15.00 on Saturdays).Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
Vadstena is an amazing place.
Vadstena is an amazing place. Lots of culture buildings, castle and of course the famous church. You can take a swim from any place along the lakefront. Taking a walk is highly recommended. Walk all the way out to the lighthouse. If you get hungry, grab something to eat and sit down in the park. Lovely!Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Vadstena is a very charming and beautiful Swedish town. We really enjoyed our stay. It is very walkable. The castle tour was excellent, as was our visit to the abbey. There are many good places to eat, and everyone we encountered was very friendly.Guest review byDebbie

The house had a well-equipped kitchen and was very comfortable for families with kids with multiple bunk beds. There are many good restaurants in the area. You can bring your own linens and towels or rent them for $10 or 100 swedish kroner per guest. You can clean the place yourself (easy) or pay a cleaning fee. It is extremely quiet and peaceful and the owner lives just down the road and is very helpful.Guest review byDavidUnited States

So it’s really a collection of boutique hotels. The one we stayed in had very comfortable rooms. The buffet breakfast in our particular building was truly outstanding attended to by charming staff - lots of variations on a Swedish theme as well as the usual staples.
