Very good location - not central location, but that is even plus. Everything you need is within a short walk - train station "Pod Lesom" and grocery shop (~10-15 min. walking), restaurant Koliba Tatry with traditional Slovakian cuisine and pizzeria (~10 min. walking) and close to supermarkets in Poprad (~ 10 min. driving). The host was very kind and communication was easy. The apartments were clean, provided with all the basics, including hand soap, dish soap, and even clothes pegs. 2 towels provided for each guest. But what we liked most was the fantastic view out the window - the changing mountain landscape, which you can watch from the window or from the balcony.

Everything was exceptional. The host was very friendly, the room was extremely comfortable and spacious, and the bathroom was just as roomy. We enjoyed a beautiful view, and there was a fully equipped shared kitchen on the upper floor. It was simply a lovely experience, we highly recommend it and will definitely return.

    Nova Lesna is The Perfect Place to stay when you want to...

    Nova Lesna is The Perfect Place to stay when you want to visit the High Tatras. It is close, it has great value for money and has some really beautiful places to stay at with spectacular view. I have been here twice so far but definitely will come back every time we want to go hiking in these beautiful mountains. The train is close by and quick, there are shops here and so many options to choose where you want to stay.

    It is a small village about 10 min by train from Poprad or...

    It is a small village about 10 min by train from Poprad or Stary Smokovec where the mountains start. There are trains at least once an hour in each direction. Clean, very quiet and with a beautiful view of High Tatras. As it is a little village it is hard to find many shops and restaurants there. The nearest supermarkets are Billa and Kaufland near the Poprad station. There is a nice local vine shop in the village and a slovak cuisine krčma (tavern).

    The Vila Grand was the perfect mix of independent accom and hotel. We could cook and had plenty of space but we also had a great breakfast provided, our room was serviced every day and everything was comfortable. Perfect for a family. The staff were fantastic- nothing was a problem and they worked incredibly hard. There was a lovely homely atmosphere.

    It was a good price for the value of staying in Nova Lesna. Friendly and helpful staff, a clean apartment, a convenient location (a dozen minutes from Tatra electric railway station), a quiet comfortable beds.
