Mae Chaem is an amazing little village with great air quality, which is a rare thing in Thailand. With lots of greenery and nature trails, you'll never get bored in this place. Food is also cheap and tasty. The people are nice and always smiling. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a nature retreat.

Great location for access to Doi Inthanon National Park, the highest mountain in Thailand at 2565m or 8400ft. The value for money is excellent. Can be quite cool at the summit any time of year and downright cold from November-March even in Mae Chaem.
