The hotel is located in a Dar, a historical building specific to the Medina, which offered us a unique experience through the services offered and attention to the details related to the environment. Very well maintained and clean. The breakfast was extraordinary with fresh and traditional products. They adapted very quickly to our requirements, as we did not want meat and sugary products. The reception personnel were very kind and helpful. They helped us with advice and guidance for the excursions in the surroundings, but also with the transfers. Specifically, Arbi, the driver, was very professional and helpful. He even helped us with useful advises, including buying plane tickets.

The breakfast was great offering a good selection to choose from. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The concierge organised a tour guide for me and at the end of my stay he arranged a taxi and checked the price as well as making sure the driver knew where I needed to go. This was a big help as I don’t speak French or Arabic! The room was really comfortable and the meals in the restaurant were good.

Situated on Victory Square, next to the Bab el Bhar gate, which marks the entrance to the Medina, or the historic, cultural, and traditional heartbeat of the city of Tunis, this former British Embassy building with its monumental architecture and sheer scale evokes the era of great prosperity and unbridled luxury. Never in my life have I seen such a lavishly decorated bathroom! You could off its floor; that is how squeaky clean it is. The hotel’s charming restaurant offers a vast variety of tasty breakfast options, and the staff are especially cooperative and respectful, without taking the smiles off their faces.

If you are a history fan and like monuments or beaches, this will be your favorite destination. BUT There are some unmentioned rules: 1. Bargaining (the prices are higher than they should be, so do not forget to bargain) 2. NEVER buy anything from the stalls outside of monuments. They usually sell tooooo expensive, even if you bargain to a quarter of the price, it is still expensive. I had a very bad experience, unfortunately. 3. Be careful with your pockets and be aware of using your phone in the streets. 4. The prices in the cartage land are very good for buying handicrafts. 5. You can use ''Louage'' to transport to other cities. Not modern but very affordable.

Tunis is a pleasant city to visit, among others due to its friendly inhabitants. The Bardo Museum is a must-see whereas places such as Cathago and the other coastal areas of the city are worth visiting. The Medina was a bit run down, yet it was enchanting and it felt safe. If I had to mention one disadvantage when it comes to Tunis, that would be the limited variety in cafes and bars, which turns dining into the main activity for the evening.

The locals are dodgy, at least in the city.

The locals are dodgy, at least in the city. They'll happily overcharge you for services and almost demand their tips as opposed to deserving them. left one of suitcases in the cab that dropped to the hotel...he didnt return it and i stupidly didnt take the cab number on top of the vehicle be sure to do that so you can trace these rascals. food isnt great...its all badly made commercial mix of american and french type mainly junk food again this is in the city... wasnt impressed.
