Göreme is a busy town but Coco Cave is a peaceful place to stay. Go walking in the valleys to have adventures where you will have more peace. We walked Love Valley, White Valley and Pigeon Valley on day and Red and Rose Valleys another day. We also walked Zena valley. All were beautiful with astonishing scenery. Highly recommend getting up early to watch the balloons. Food is expensive and generally not great in the town. Goreme is beautiful 🤩. I feel like we did not explore it enough given that we only had two days there. I think it's got a lot to offer though it's small. I would have loved to go to the neighborhood like Uchisa as well. I hope to get there again one day.Guest review byLufunoSouth Africa - 10.0
GOREME is a great little place , with loads to do .
GOREME is a great little place , with loads to do . We did plenty of walking , but the highlight is definitely the balloon ride , an experience of a lifetime . The only thing i didn’t like about GOREME , is the prices of food and drink , it’s ridiculously expensive compared to the rest of Turkiye , even Istanbul is a fraction of the cost . Be careful also when booking the air balloon trip , the initial price will be inflated, also book it nearer the time , as we were lucky . We booked it Saturday for the Sunday , the following 3 days flights were cancelled. I was surprised by how overly "tourist-y" Goreme was.
I was surprised by how overly "tourist-y" Goreme was. The restaurants didn't offer traditional Turkish food, everything was very overpriced, the whole town came across as flashy and overdone to me. It was my friend's birthday and they were very thoughtful. They greated her with cake and tea. She was visiting from the US and was very impressed with the hospitality. This is my 7th time in Cappadocia and the hotel managed to make this trip very memorable. I've stayed with similar cave hotels but the pool inside a cave was unique. The decor is tastefully done.
