The staff was really helpful and we enjoyed our stay a lot. The location was perfect, close to all the monuments. 15 minutes walking to catch the ferry to cross to the Asian side of the city. 5 minutes walking from the tram. 10 minutes walking to the gran bazar. Good value for money. Breakfast very good and with fresh fruits, vegetables and fresh baked bread.

The property is in a very nice area. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They helped with every enquiry i had, and were polite and could communicate easily. Would definitely like to visit the property again. Kudos to the house keeping too, i would find my room cleaned every evening when i go back, without asking them.

FAQs about hotels in Istanbul

The Best of Asia and Europe

The city of Istanbul offers a trip unlike any other, encompassing Asian and European cultures to create a heady mix of art, music and food. The amazing Old Town and the Sultanahmet are home to iconic Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia. More history is hidden in the Topkapi Palace, where you can glimpse the splendour and opulence of Turkey’s Ottoman heritage.

Take a stroll through the historic centre or the bustling Taksim Square before watching the sun set behind countless mosques and minarets. Local fish markets and numerous restaurants lining the bridge to Galata offer the Golden Horn’s daily catch.

If you prefer the fine art of bargaining to fine art, lose yourself in the Grand Bazar and maybe you’ll emerge with a hookah, some Turkish coffee, or even a carpet. The Spice Bazar further immerses you in the sights, smells, and tastes of Turkish culture.

Getting to Istanbul is an easy trip from Ataturk International Airport or Sabiha Gokcen Airport. Whether you want a luxury hotel on the Asian side or a budget hostel in Taksim Square, Booking.com has over 1,000 great accommodations for your holiday in Istanbul.

Pro’s lots of shopping, lots of restaurants with a variety of menu’s. All the shops we visited took Euro. Turkish baths are amazing so relaxing. Loved the shopping some of the shops in the main streets are cheaper than the bazar… The spice bazar was amazing.. Con’s the hop on hop off tour was a bit of a let down, didn’t see too much… Traffic is a nightmare and they are all mad drivers..

It’s a big city. 16 million people without the mass of tourists. The sameness of food and shops was quite surprising. A lack of creativity? Hundreds of the same spice shops, same food offerings, same clothes, etc. I enjoyed the walks across the main bridge and talking to the fishermen (no women) in broken English and using the AI language. The antiquities. Amazing. I am a bit of a life style goose walker and thought the mosques were wonderful but not worth $90 each etc. walk the city. Travel the water. A unique city and something for everyone.

It used to be one of my favourite cities.

It used to be one of my favourite cities. However now all the museums and churches managed by the state are running a scam on foreign people. Not only they ask for unreasonable entrance fees, but at the official ticket shops they scam the people. For example at the Hagia Sofia, they tell visitors, that you can only see one level for 25 Euros (already too expensive), but you need to pay 50 Euros to see everything. But for 50 Euros they ONLY show exactly the same one floor, and then you can visit some other small museum, which is not even in the church for the rest of the 50 Euros. Some tourists only ordered the 25 Euro ticket, and later noticed, that their card was still charged the double fee, and no one gets a refund. They run the same scam in the Archeology Museum too. I don't know, how the most accepting, colourful city of the world turned into this xenophobic nightmare. It is a shame. In this form, I do not recommend anyone to visit Istanbul. I hope, it will be amazing again!

We did most of the key sights-we were only there for a couple of days- I think 4 days would have been better -we could have done more. It is a beautiful city with a lot of history to see if you like that. There are cruises on the rivers - night and day that are very nice.- as well as mosques, palaces, museums. We did take tours to avoid lines and for more information which we enjoyed. We went to the Hagia Sofia which I read reviews that it was not really able to be seen by non-Moslems but we found we could see fine from upstairs.

A VAST city with a huge history.

A VAST city with a huge history. The tourist part was big enough, but it stretches for miles in all directions from there. The ferry's are great for moving across the river, and they are very cheap. There are some fabulous attractions to go and see in the centre. All the big ones are great, if a bit expensive.

Istanbul is a great city to visit.

Istanbul is a great city to visit. One thing I loved was the food. Another thing I liked about staying in Sultanahmet was the fact that the walking distance was doable to many sites. It was a bit pricey, but it is a tourist area. Coming from the US, it is not as expensive as where I live in Charleston, SC. Hawkers were sometimes annoying but added to the "bazaar" feel of the place. I really didn't mind; we have our own variety of hawkers in Charleston. There were some scammers around, but what big city doesn't have a variety of those. If you want to go into some of the sites, there is a wait, but I didn't find it a deal breaker. I went into the Basilica Cistern and enjoyed it immensely. The taxi to the airport was around 50 USD; traffic is awful. I tried using the metro as recommended by some but found it very difficult to deal with luggage and would not recommend. The streets are paved and very uneven and difficult with luggage even for a 15-minute walk. Be sure you get a legitimate taxi. You can get a regular ferry for the Bosphorus Strait and it is way cheaper than through a tour. However, if you want the dinner and show cruise that is a different thing.

We had a wonderful stay here! We received a room upgrade, which really made our stay. The room was fantastic and had a wonderful bathroom/balcony, which were extremely spacious. The spa was lovely, the staff were very helpful and the hotel was very clean and modern. Would definitely recommend for anyone staying in Istanbul. There was a free shuttle available which needs pre booking, however we were happy to pay for a taxi to Taksim square, which was only a few euros. We will definitely be recommending this hotel to family/friends!
