I had an amazing stay at this hotel! It was not only beautiful but also incredibly comfortable. The rooms were lovely and well-equipped with air conditioning, making the stay even more pleasant. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. They even drove us to Ephesus and the House of the Virgin Mary in their own car, which was such a thoughtful gesture. Afterward, they took us to the train station and helped us purchase our tickets, making the whole experience even smoother. The breakfast was absolutely the best, with a wide variety of delicious options to start the day. To top it off, they gave us a lovely gift when we checked out, which was a really nice touch. The hotel was beautifully presented from the time you walked into the courtyard entrance. The rooms were very comfortable, tastefully decorated, and spotlessly clean. The owner was extremely generous with his time and helped us optimize our limited time in the area. I have traveled to many parts of the world with work and have stayed at some of the nicest 5 star hotels, however, The Livia hotel has been my most enjoyable experience at a hotel ever.

Simply everything! We were welcome by Coşku, she was amazing. She gave us a lot of recommendations and the communication was very easy. The place belongs to her mother, and it is very homie. The room was very comfortable, and clean. The breakfast was very fresh and good, they served us food that was made by her grandmother, it was delicious. The location is amazing, close from everything. We definitely recommend that place!

Our driver Mustafá was very kind.

Our driver Mustafá was very kind. He drove us around all the sights including Ephesus Ruins, St John Basilica, Virgin Mary’s House and Artemis Monument, all in one day. Only down side is we had to pay cash since they don’t accept credit card. One needs a form of transportation since it is not walking distance. Be prepared in the heat with umbrella, hat, sunscreen, handheld fan and water.

My new bride and I have decided to not travel to Europe/Asia Minor in the summer any longer. The planet has just gotten too hot for comfortable travel during the summer months. Unless you are booked for a beach vacation literally 50 to 100 meters from the water, summer in Europe/Asia Minor is just not in the cards.

Interesting town, with many restaurants and sights. The aqueduct is very impressive. We walked from our hotel to Ephesus to avoid moving the car. It is a long walk, but we enjoyed it. Ephesus is well worth a visit, but very crowded. I especially recommend paying the extra to see the townhouses, which are very impressive and give a quiet break from the crowds. The museum was good, and the St. John Basilica complex interesting, with lovely views. The House of Mary was in a nice location, but with incredible crowds. We had to wait at least an hour in line for a 3 minute walk through.

Loved Selçuk but a few things went wrong when locals tried...

Loved Selçuk but a few things went wrong when locals tried their best to help us with planning. Visiting Ephesus do search for the "Official Site" which is a government based site. We were told 3 different opening times by taxi drivers etc and everyone was wrong. The extended summer opening hours are available only a few days of the week. We paid E120 for 3 adults for 90 minutes inside, 30 of which we had the site staff constantly blowing whistles to get the crowd moving along. A very small sign at entry stated 7pm closing (missed it), when we had expected 11pm closing. Train to airport (9am) was delayed an hour so we needed to organise a shuttle last minute. Shuttle E80 which we split between 5 of us waiting at the train station all needing to catch flights. The Old House restaurant was the tastiest food we had found in Turkey. Ephesus museum in town is very good and worthwhile an 2-3 hour visit.

Two full days (3 nights) were just right in Selcuk. Day 1 was a full-day small group tour of Ephesus and other sites further away (House of Mary, Temple of Artemis). Day 2 was a leisurely walking day in Selcuk, visiting the excellent Museum (which has lots of statues and friezes from Ephesus), the Isa Bey Mosque, St. Johns Basilica and the Aya Soluk Castle on the hill, which are all close to the Homeros Hotel. Selcuk itself has lots of lovely cafes and restaurants and is pleasant to explore.

The location is very good. Easy access to the center of the city and to the istorical sites around Selcuk. Many places to visit, Ephesus, the House of the Virgin Mary, Grotto of the Seven Sleepers, Temple of Artemis. There are good restaurants around. If you like pide, you must eat at the restaurant across the street. The hotel has elevator, which was important for us. Parking in front of the hotel. Breakfast could be better, because it's Turkey, but it was okay.

Beautiful new hotel in front of the Church of St. JOHN. Good breakfast on the terace of the hotel with beautiful wiew, parking in front, very nice staff, extreamly clean, free coffee and balkony with wiew of the church. I think that there is no place like this in Selcuk.
