A very pretty small country town, with lovely town centre...
A very pretty small country town, with lovely town centre and museums and places to see and shops to see. Great food and facilities. Decent architecture, there is a tall tower that must be climbed up... not for the weak or fainthearted. A section of walled fortifications that have been restored and nicely used for tourist shopping. Easy transport and cheap taxis. I used the overnight sleeper train from Kyiv to get there which was superb. Beautiful architecture, parks, vyshvyvanky (traditional Ukrainian embrooidery), funky cafes and restaurants alongside traditional cuisine. I LOVE visiting Ivano-Frankivsk, it's a fun city to see and many things to do and you can walk to most of it but there are other ways to get around if you don't want to walk. Unfortunately there's not too much you can see during one-...
Unfortunately there's not too much you can see during one-day trip but I really liked the city. Had nice breakfast at Urban Space 100, then walked around center and went to the top of Ratusha to see a great view. Then went to Shevchenko park - walked there and also around Mis'ke Lake on another side. Had a wonderful dinner at Devyatka (best Varenyky with mushroom sauce ever!) and then stayed a bit on the corner of the same street listening to two guys playing saxophone and trumpet - really enjoyed it. Had to leave super early next day to catch my train but loved walking back to the railway station while city was still sleeping and there were no people on the streets :)Guest review byMeteorchikUnited Arab Emirates
