    The staff was very friendly, the hotel is clean and charming, the breakfast is good, the evening reception is very nice. I'd like to see a little more fresh fruit at the breakfast and maybe some nicer snacks at the evening reception.

    Loved the people.

    Loved the people. Many were volunteer docents in the Empire and Northstar mines and museums. Loved the food at the Holbrooke restaurant. Menu limited but food was gourmet. $$ affordable. Historical district quaint .Hiking and outdoor activities along many historical sites like the Malakoff diggings. Close to the sierra nevada foot hill towns

    It was close to the fairgrounds, about 8 minutes away.

    It was close to the fairgrounds, about 8 minutes away. Only when the road was under repair did it require extra time. It's quiet and comfortable. There was only one day when the parking lot was full near my room, and I had to carry my guitar more than 20 yards. However, I usually came in around 11 PM so if you are on a work schedule, you're probably OK..

    Sprawling small town with lots of events and happenings...

    Sprawling small town with lots of events and happenings planned through the year. We spent a Monday night wandering around town, finding live music at the local brewery, a broad selection of restaurants, and later on a bar where there was karaoke! Wish we could have stayed until the shop opened the next day to have a look in the antiques shops! 100% recommend a visit if you’re in the Tahoe/reno area!

    Grass Valley is such a visually stunning and relaxing area, it's my home away from home! The downtown area is adorable, and the outlying areas are peaceful and relaxing. It is truly a special place.

    The room was updated, the perfect mix between updated and classic historical. Absolutely gorgeous. The kitchen area surpassed expectations. At one point I had forgotten the code to our room, and the owner was super patient and kind. We can’t wait to go back! It’s a super short distance to downtown Grass Valley, and the updated shops and gluten free bakery were a big plus! Great location.

    Motel is set back from the road in spacious grounds Nice updated comfortable room Good swimming pool and hot tub although hot tub was cold on one of the days Good breakfast Hotel better than anticipated as some previous reviews referred to anti social homeless people hanging around the property but we saw nothing. It was all very peaceful

    A wonderful hotel in a wonderful town, we stopped in grass valley instead of crowded Lake Tahoe and are so happy that we did. Lovely clean room and other facilities, great staff! In a picturesque town not to be missed! We were sad to leave this lovely town!
