The Argos Inn is a gem in Ithica. The building and property are so unique, and it's so thoughtfully decorated. The staff were all very kind, warm, and welcoming. Morning coffee in the sunlit breakfast room made for the perfect start to every morning. The beautiful bar and lounge made for the perfect night cap to end the evening. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, and had everything we would need. The Inn is conveniently located, only short walk to downtown, to the Cascadilla Gorges, and to Cornell. On-site parking made making day trips to the surrounding area seamless. If back in Ithica, there is no doubt we could come back to the Argos.

We have stayed at this hotel for many trips on the way to Toronto, but unfortunately we won't anymore because we have a new dog and they charge a non-refundable $100-$150 dollar pet fee. More than we would like to pay and our dog is definitely going to join us. Too bad. Oh well.

The location was beautiful, the service was very friendly, the rooms were clean.. For observant Jews there is a very friendly Jewish community on campus (for students, but guests are welcome) the food is decent and very affordable, and there is a lot to see in walking distance so Saturday can be well spent (botanical gardens, a lake etc).

The GreyHaven is a wonderful place in Ithaca! This is a family run operation and they have renovated all the rooms! The outdoor facilities include Adirondack chairs around several fire pits and there's wood to start a fire too provided with the room. The attention of the owners was wonderful and I cannot express how accommodating they were. We went to Ithaca beer and the owner even offered to pick us up if necessary. Pick this "motel" for accommodations in Ithaca!!!!

    Cute walkable town surrounded by beautiful scenery. Vibrant community. Many wonderful options for food and drink. I recommend Mix and Revelry Yards. There is a beautiful little waterfall hiking trail at the edge of town. The farmer's market was an impressive collection of produce, prepared foods, and artisanal goods. There is a huge park with paths, a playground, and kayak rentals. Ithica is a great starting point if you want to visit the many wineries on Cayuga Lake.

    We found in Ithaca what we were looking for.

    We found in Ithaca what we were looking for. We wanted peace, quiet, with a friendly environment. People were friendly and helpful, and whenever we went to visit certain areas, people were nice to talk to and very helpful.

    If you are into semi- city, country surroundings, Ithaca is...

    If you are into semi- city, country surroundings, Ithaca is the place for you. Small town, plenty of attractions downtown in the commons. There is no IHOP in Ithaca however, The State Diner definitely makes up for that. For me, the only downside is the condition of some of the roads, especially going through the neighborhood to get to the college campus. Other than that, Ithaca is my second home.

    Ithaca is a beautiful town full of natural beauty, featuring lots of hiking trails, gorges and waterfalls; great for a quiet getaway. There’s a nice downtown with wide, cobblestone, pedestrian only shopping area that feels almost European. Good, dining and low-key shopping.

    Wish we had spent more time there.

    Wish we had spent more time there. Cliffside hikes, Buttermilk Falls and natural pools are what we missed. We were there for College hockey playoffs but we did have time to visit charming downtown. Lots of shopping and restaurants. Very, very friendly and welcoming locals.

    Wow, it's true-- there are NUMEROUS waterfalls, some within walking distance. Cornell Campus is enormous. I got lost. It contains an arboretum and don't miss the on-campus creamery. There are wonderful cafes, great coffee, great ethnic food, shops, bookstores, and of course Moosewood Restaurant. The glacial ravines and trails and bridges all over town are incredible. There are several state parks to visit and even a swimming hole with diving board under a waterfall, also nearby. Don't miss the Suffragette Museum, the wineries, and the wildlife refuge on a side trip to Seneca Falls.

    Location is wonderful. very close to many restaurants as well as to beautiful walks. Hotel building is unique with a 'character' and room was cozy and fitted very well for 3 of us. Loved the free tea and coffee at the lobby and afternoon snacks. Great breakfast and were flexible with our special requests. Convenient parking near hotel.
