Charged twice in dispute. POOL is the smallest most shallow I have ever seen. Main reason for booking very disappointed. Mother has RA excited that she could use the pool to help her muscles. This was the nastiest and dirtiest hotel room that I have stayed in in a number of years. I was caught in a storm with no other options. I wouldn't take my shoes off because the carpet was so dirty as was the bedspread. I was thinkful that I was there by myself & my wife wasn't with me. My family and I always stay here when we come into town. We’ve never had any major issues until this stay. There was a live bed bug crawling on one of the beds. When I informed the staff in my opinion it seems like they’ve dealt with this before. There was no outrage, they apologies but it definitely seemed like something they were use to. After the we showed them the bed bug (I have a video of it crawling around on a pillow) they changed out room. It's a lovely little town—a lot of food options.
It's a lovely little town—a lot of food options. I usually stop when traveling down to Florida or up to NYC. It never disappoints, as I tend to reach it when I start experiencing driver fatigue behind the wheel. Good town/small city to stay overnight when doing a long road trip. Plenty of restaurants to choose from across 3 different exits on I-95. Our "go to" restaurants are Mexican and sushi, but there are plenty of other places (burger joints, diners, chains) to consider. My wife and I felt safe wherever we went. The driving was easy to navigate. We did not stay long enough to do any tours of the town, however there is some interesting history there based on the lumber industry (hence the name of the town).
