Enjoyed seeing the Cedar Crest Ice Cream shop, there is a very nice park across the street called Red Arrow Park. Downtown is very nice, lots of old buildings. Watched the Badger come into port and leave from the Red Arrow Park. There is a really nice dog park on Mero Street, they have two areas one for dogs under 35 pounds and one for dogs over 35 pounds, close to the hotel we were at.

Nice and reasonably priced restaurants downtown, very nice ice cream and candy store I think called Beernsteins. The Maritime bike trail is really nice and starts right near the hotel. Nice maritime museum and great WW-II GATO Submarine and tour. And it was fun traveling to and from Manitowoc on the Lake Michigan Carferry, the Badger. The Badger is more economical and slightly longer than the Lake Express Carferry between Muskegon and Milwaukee. I like that the Badger takes longer then the lake express in Muskegon, because I want the longer experience as it is relaxing and nice being out in fresh air of lake… the 4 hour Badger trip is better then the around 2.5 hour lake express. Plus Milwaukee where the lake express goes is a big city, more traffic due to bigger city, where Manitowoc on the Badger is a smaller more rural community of around 35,000 population. Therefore traffic is not as hectic there either.

    Location was great.

Location was great. Right downtown and everything was walkable. Full hot breakfast, nice size refrigerator and microwave in room. Staff friendly and helpful. Will stay there again. Do not judge from the outside. Hotel has been totally renovated,

I'm sure it was an outstanding hotel when it was new; But grounds were dirty and so was the pool; Right on Lake michigan was nice. Manitowoc is a very beautiful and clean town; But the Baymont needs new maids or something.....outdated and dirty.
