The view is breathtaking!!
The view is breathtaking!! We watched the most beautiful sunset. the restaurant was closed at 8:00, but locked doors at 7:45 when we got there , the other 2 restaurants listed were not open at all. The only place we found to eat was River House Bar & Grille. the waitress ignored us completely when we got there. We waited about 15 minutes while she visited some guys at the bar. She then took refills to a couple girls and visited with them for while. Then she dropped glasses of water so quickly we couldn't even ask for menus. When we finally did get served, the food was great. However, she never came back to fill our glasses or to check if everything was okay When she brought the bill she was cheerful and talked for a minute, but that did not make up for the terrible service. I normally give at least a $5.00 tip, but she got $3.00 which was $.30 short of the minimum 20%tip. The lodge-style design had modern accents creating a cozy yet convenient experience. The heated pool area as well as the fitness studio were in pristine condition. Instead of a lobby there were spaces resembling living rooms throughout the hotel were friends & families can sit down, play, or eat together. They have a game room with things like foosball and board games and an outdoor hot tub. We reserved a room with 2 beds, but the place wasn’t busy and when they learned I had two kids with me they generously upgraded us to a room with 4 beds. We only used two anyway because my youngest child wouldn’t sleep alone in the unfamiliar environment, but it was a very nice gesture and my kids did think it was “luxurious” (their word) to have so many beds to choose from. We started staying at the hotel after the family home was sold. The restaurant is phenomenal and the rooms are special and the lake brings peace and quiet.
