It’s a wonderful place to stay in San Francisco. Very clean and modern, staff is super friendly, and the location is absolutely perfect — it’s very easy to get to/from the airport and every possible attraction is within reach. The rooms are indeed small but as a solo traveler, I didn’t have any issue with that. Can’t think of a better value-for-money option in SF.

A very pleasant welcome, the guest house is very well located, just a stone's throw from Dolores Park and a few minutes' walk from Castro, with its bars, restaurants and shops. The area is very quiet and the guest house has a very pleasant garden. The breakfast was simple but very good. If I were to return to SF I would probably come back to this hotel.

The boutique hotel was lovely, clean, the continental breakfast selection was more like a "European style" --full on menu (i.e.,beverages- juices, teas, coffee, espresso, hot entree with assortment of breads, pastries, spreads, fruits, cold entrees, etc.). The food was excellent. The quality of the food and beverages were exceptional! The morning dining room staff were professional and courteous and not intrusive to guests while dining. but, if you needed to order an item from the dine in menu the staff was there to take your order and worked efficiently. The dining room was clean and setup lovely. The staff always kept the food area replenished and very clean! We also enjoyed the 24 hour availably for in room dining. My husband and I will definitely be returning soon to stay at Hotel Drisco. The 24 hour parlor room service with hot and cold beverages with light snacks was a welcome treat especially the biscotti! Nice to come back to the Hotel and relax in the parlor room with a beverage and have a snack. The selection of quality teas were very nice. All the Hotel Drisco staff from bell men, front desk, dining room and housekeeping were professional and courteous especially, Tanjay! Our room was clean and very comfortable...housekeeping staff always kept our room very clean...like the bed and bath linens too!

FAQs about hotels in San Francisco

An Icon of Liberalism

Home to one of America’s icons – the Golden Gate Bridge – San Francisco is a liberal city where life is very much for the living.

Surrounded on 3 sides by water, it is spread over steep hills that make for great photo opportunities. None better than the zig-zag Lombard Street seen in many a film. Other movie stars are the streetcars plying the hill climbs – a little touristy, but still worth trying.

In the middle of the bay is Alcatraz island, famed for the notorious criminals once imprisoned there. Even if you don’t fancy going inside, the views towards the bridge and city are unparalleled.

Nowhere in San Francisco is life more laidback than on the Pacific beaches. Hire a bike and head out there via the huge Golden Gate Park, before returning to sample some fresh seafood at Fisherman’s Wharf. The clam chowder served in (yes, actually in!) bread is a delight. Chinatown also has a great selection of good value restaurants.

As you fly into San Francisco Airport, look out for the exclusive homes lining the Bay Area. Whether you want to stay in apartments along those lines, luxury San Francisco hotels or cheap hostels, Booking.com has something to suit. Be careful though – you might just leave your heart here.

I went to San Francisco when I was 16 years old and was really scared by it and hated it. After talking to many many people over the years who told me it was a fantastic fantastic city. I thought I'd go back now. I'm a little older and see what it was like and I must say I'm not too sure what my brain was thinking about when I was younger because I found everyone was indeed correct. The city is fantastic so many cool areas to go and visit from pier 39 to the hippie area. Golden Gate Park is fantastic too. I enjoyed the food and the entertainment in short if someone asked me to move there, I would leave my wife and my cat and go there immediately.

So many things to do and see.

So many things to do and see. Lot's of opportunity to experience many diverse cultural things. You can't go wrong with any of the food and sights. From Pier 39, Coit Tower, to the Golden Gate Bridge at sunset. We were pleasantly surprised at how clean the city was and at how friendly everyone was and so willing to assist tourists. We accidently went to Oakland. Very said and very scary. Definitely stay away from there.

Beautiful city and with lots to see and do. At least, you should stay 4 days and organize what you will do every day. Get a clipper card to move around the city with public transportation, which is organized and clean. My favorite places: Golden Gate Bridge, The Alcatraz tour, The cable car ride, The painted Ladies, Chinatown, The Golden Gate Park, Building Ferry Pier.

Make sure you bring warm clothes even in the summer as it gets really chilly. Ate at Fog Harbor. Food was really good. Went to Oracle Park. Always a good time at the ball park. Walked through the Warf. Always good to take a Cable Car ride. Go to Alcatraz is a must. Have an Irish Coffee at the Buena Vista.

Absolutely great location just off Union Square and walkable to other parts of the city, e.g. Coit Tower - or you can take the historic trams. I found this to be great value compared to other hotels nearby and I liked the historic character of the hotel. The staff were very welcoming and offered advice on what to see and do in the area. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious. There was complementary tea and coffee provided in the lobby.

We recently stayed at Executive Hotel Vintage Court during our trip to San Francisco, and I have mixed feelings about my experience. While there were some positive aspects, there were also several areas that left me feeling underwhelmed. Firstly, the location of Executive Hotel Vintage Court was convenient, as it was centrally located in downtown San Francisco. This allowed for easy access to popular attractions and public transportation.

I didn't see any junkies or tents during the day or night. It's located in a very good area, walking distance to Union Square and other places of interest. It has great bedrooms, bathrooms and gym. Breakfast is normal and the usual hotel type, but its varied and good. After looking a lot of reviews, which all stated the hotel was surrounded by tents and junkies, this one was a great find.
