Sweetwater has a lot of very nice people, but there is nothing to do and not enough good places to eat. It is a very poor town and in need of a facelift. Everyone was friendly and helpful, but all the good attractions and places to visit were in Abilene.

we just stayed one night arrived late and left early. I switched to EXPEDIA after this booking for the rest of the trip. I am shocked this particular Motel was even on the list. Worst stay ever after booking thru Booking.com I will stick with Expedia from now on

My focus for the weekend was the National WWII WASP Museum's annual Fly- In. It is amazing, and since my mother was a WASP (WOMen's Airforce Service Pilot), I was enthralled with the planes and pilots and history. Sweetwater has lots of windmills, and lots of good food and cowboys at Buck's BBQ.

    Staff and location.

Staff and location. Close to downtown which had a music festival in the evening with lots of local food trucks offering great brisket, Barb-b-que, and street dancing. Take the short ride to Women Air Force Service Pilots (WASP) Museum which has a very interesting exhibits. They had an Airshow and it was excellentwith vintage aircraft on display. I ate at a restaurant within easy walking distance, not fancy but great food. Hôtel does have a “panty” which offers good quality microwave meals, snacks and drinks. They have a large lobby for meeting with friends and family. Our group met each evening for a little happy hour. Walmart is across the highway (1 mile) if you forget anything, they sell wine & beer. Hôtel is pet and family friendly. Large swimming pool and workout room.

It is small enough, and rural enough, yet close to a larger city that has excellent medical facilities, to make it a real gem. The smallness of the city allows for a sense of community. Any larger, and that definitely starts getting lost. Being from Sweetwater, I am biased, but between football, various shows at the coliseum, Texas State Technical College, and the massive windmill farms out south of the city, and some pleasant lakes, it makes for a good life. It is also awesome to look out and see the plateaus with windmill on top of them, and see miles and miles, and also sun rising and setting. I probably love that just about more than anything.

We ate at Buck's - the best burgers we've ever eaten.

We ate at Buck's - the best burgers we've ever eaten. Of course we had to go to Wal-Mart. The people in Sweetwater are very friendly. We didn't do much else as we were tired of driving and needed a place to rest/sleep. Holiday Inn is the place to do that. Very comfortable atmosphere.

I am sorry but I can tell you very little but when I traveled to the hotel, I was unable to check in because the hotel did not have a working WIFI, which meant that the hotel could not check me in, that there was no phone service and no tv. I was unable to stay there.

We have slept in many types of hotels on our trip through the USA, but none like this one. Everything was surreal. Dirty walls and doors, strong smell of tobacco and malfunctioning air conditioning. At 12am, at night, drunk people singing around the pool.

Dog loved the grass surrounding the hotel. Near BBQ and fast food restaurants, but lobby also has drink, snacks and microwave meals for purchase.
