You immediately find yourself emersed in this city, particularly the Old Quarter, and it becomes addictive. Ok, first thing..i prefer HCMC. However i can see that if one was a first timer to Asia then this city would be more familiar perhaps. Old Quarter is v. busy, bars, touristy with all the accompanying pros and cons of that. Whatever you want will be offered to you within 10 minutes by a guy on a moped. The seedy side is not even beneath the surface. I don't pay it any mind, but for those with a weak constitution you could easily lose yourself here in a day. Just say no. Decent museum spots, sights and nice lakes. Grab bikes - blessing. My advice is to venture out of the Old Quarter, cross the bridge to the East and go explore that part too. An easy convenient city, compared to, say, Phnom Penh, but not as enjoyable as HCMC for me. I liked it, but i would probably go back to HCMC before Hanoi.Guest review byROBERTUnited Kingdom - 10.0
