The hop on hop off bus is a good way to get out of town to visit some of the tombs and a pagoda. Some of this can also be visited by boat. The main attraction is the Imperial City. The river is nice. Plenty of activity on the opposite side of the river from the Imperial City. History. Very good food and variety of great places to eat. There were multiple local eateries with English menues and helpful staff, real and cheaper food. Good place to experience Vietnamese meals. A few high class restaurants nearby as well. Lovely walk along river at night with the lights. Also on the morning of my flgiht my booked taxi stood me up and the hotel staff at 6am helped me find a last minute driver and a packed breakfast. The host was so helpful, accommodating and was so passionate about her hotel and local area. The rooms were basic but with a super comfy bed. In fact, during a month of travelling through Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand this hotel had the most comfortable bed. Breakfast was simple but very nice.
