Located on the Cape of Good Hope, the city was founded in 1652 by a Dutch trading company as a way-station for ships travelling to the East Indies. With the settling process, all sorts of foreign plants were introduced, including the grapes in the famous Cape Winelands District, just outside Cape Town.
Cape Town’s history does have some darker periods, and some of its memorable places from this time deserve to be visited: Robben Island jail, the City Hall from which Nelson Mandela gave his first public speech, and the statues of the 4 South African Nobel Peace Prize winners on the V&A Waterfront.

Cape Town is simply amazing! The scenery is breathtaking, with mountains, beaches, and the ocean meeting in a spectacular way. Table Mountain is a must-see, and trips to Cape Point and Boulders Beach with the penguins are truly unforgettable. Cape Town never disappoints and is still my favorite City. The V&A Waterfront was great with many placed to eat and have drinks. It’s safe to walk and we enjoyed the variety of coffee shops and restaurants in Main road Greenpoint as well. The South African hospitality, their cultures and the different malls and the restaurants. The table Mountain, the penguin, the cape of good hope, the Robben island is a must when visit Cape Town. I ate in many restaurants and in malls. I strongly recommend Iron Steak and Bar restaurant. I used Uber to travel in Cape Town but there are other facilities also.
