The spacious and ultra luxurious rooms (which were well equipped and quiet) and the serene yet central location made us wish we booked a longer stay. Stunning location to explore the many activities and experiences that the town of Hoedspruit and surrounding area has to offer. Little shops, restaurants and of course the Greater Kruger are right on your doorstep. We were warmly greeted and the helpful and friendly staff assisted us in planning and arranging everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and memorable.

Everything about the property is great, lovely dinners, lovely ladies from reception to the serving. Lovely room, very clean and cosy. The location also great, I’ve travelled more than three times and I use a small hatchback but the roads aren’t bad.

Fantastic overall experience – this place offers both adventure and relaxation. Highlights include: • Two game drives a day with the most passionate and fabulous guide, Christelle – you couldn’t wish for better. • A great team at the lodge, from the gardeners and housekeepers to the cooks and business operators. • Wonderful breakfast, lunch and diner, including accommodations for people with dietary restrictions. • A customized stay, whether you’re visiting with friends, colleagues, as a couple, or on your honeymoon. This lodge is very eco-friendly, and they are continuously working on expanding the guest experience. Due to strict park regulations, the pool is rather small, but it’s perfect for cooling down. Additionally, you’ll find indoor and outdoor showers in your lodge. Do bring a book or two—between game drives, the peaceful surroundings invite you to unwind. Hoedspruit Airport is relatively close by, making arrivals and departures convenient. The 3-4 planes that fly by in the early afternoon are hardly noticeable. Rooms are very clean, and taken care of twice a day when on safari. The lodge is well protected, felt very safe during day and night time. With stunning views of the riverbanks, you might see various animals pass by while dining or relaxing—making this a place to remember.

Literally everything was great! I could not have wished for a better way to experience the South African hospitality and the bush life. Thanks to our hosts Nyarai and Tawanda, who took great care of us and our wishes/needs before and during our stay, we had a carefree and super comfortable experience. The safaris and tours they booked for us were amazing and really saved us a lot of time looking for good and reliable tour guides. Leave it to them, they really know what they are doing and they will not disappoint! The foods prepared by the chefs were amazing, a true pleasure for the tastebuds. Gluten free dinners were no problem at all and it was much more than just some plain and simple dishes, but truly culinary treats for the soul. The room was in super condition, modern but with respect for the bush surrounding the area. Very good and modern amenities inside the room and the lodge. Sometimes some animals passed the accommodation and that really felt like watching a documentary, but then in real life. Even being able to watch the animals passing by from our bed through the big glass sliding door is something that never gets boring. Great swimming pool and watch tower from where you could see the surrounding area and witness the beautiful sunrise while listening to the peaceful animal sounds coming to life more and more every minute it gets lighter. After dinner we had camp fires, where we could sit and enjoy each other’s company. This was a huge plus because these moments create the best conversations and memories with each other. All together we can say that this is something we will talk about for a very long time. There is much more to see here and the staff made us feel like family, so both are definitely worth coming back and we definitely will. We give this place an 11 out of 10!

    I did not stay at Hoedspruit - just used the airport for transfer to camps. The airport is very small and hot - no fans or air conditioning - but efficient and the staff is friendly. No problems. Very small shop. No cafeteria or restaurant.

    A heaven for animal lovers as you get to see them in all...

    A heaven for animal lovers as you get to see them in all forms. Excellent town with all the amenities you need for a vacation or to escape the pressures of the city. There are also several interesting stops one can make along the way, such as the Museum of Men or Echo Caves, when driving from the Mpumalanga side.

    It is a lovely laid back town with plenty of wildlife experiences Our experience at HESC was memorable with our awesome guide Heike The town has local coffee shops curios and is close to Kruger park and wonderful panoramic drives. Shops like Pick n Pay and Spar are also here for those who have self-catering accommodation

    Hoedspruit is close to the airport where most flights carrying tourists to the Kruger National Park lands. It is a vibrant town with a restaurants, a good hospital and where one can stock up on groceries,etc. for a visit to the park. It is surrounded by lots of game reserves and close to the Numbi entrance gate. An ideal place to sleepover on or back to the airport and Johannesburg.

    I wish booking.com can do an unannounced visit at Rio Dos Elephants River Camp when they have customers to inspect the area and the treatment. Hoedspruit has got beautiful places that we have visited before with exceptional customer orientation and value for money ethics, I would recommend people to visit Hoedspruit and its places but would not recommend them to visit Rio Dos. our stay at Rio was a bad experience, booking.com charged us R 5, 589 and upon confirmation a sum of R 2 794.50, on our departure the owner told us that she charges her facility on her own rates which we had to pay an extra R 3 544.50 which added up to R 6 339. To our surprise our was not comfortable and cold with air conditioning that is not working we are told it only works in summer for cold air only, our breakfast had limited milk, sugar, bread if it is finished none will be provided. there's quite a lot to mention, in two words "BAD EXPERIENCE".

    Hoedspruit appears to have a good range of shops, cafes and restaurants. There are various outlets catering for visitors, with a fair number of the typical South African grocery and general stores as well. The traffic can be quite daunting - 4-way Stops with all manner of turning movements. It is surely time for traffic signals to be installed at the main intersections. Pedestrian facilities are sadly lacking.

    This boutique hotel is in a semi built up area. It's new and the aesthetic is beautiful. We had the garden view with seating outside. Lovely bathroom with heated mirror. Very nice set up. Comfortable bed. Food next door at Harvest House was very good and super fresh. Coffee was included with breakfast but somehow I ended up paying (after confirming with the waitress) R41 just to have almond milk. That did not seem right, reception was advised. Reception staff were lovely. We also booked a massage next door, which was lovely.

    My husband and I loved everything about the property. The place was super clean and it had everything one would need. We were just sad that we had to leave, however we have found a new home whenever we’ll be heading to hoedspruit. Christina was of great help😊 very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back soonest❤️ Best self catering cottage one could ever get. And thank you for the bottle of wine😊 May God bless you

    The hot tub! It was definitely the highlight of our stay. The tents are very comfortable and well kitted out. Just like staying in a hotel, but the walls and roof of the room are tent. The bathroom is very spacious with excellent water pressure and hot water on demand. Gas stove meant we weren’t affected by loadshedding at all.
